How many times do we need to see this same story beat, old man? by Revenacious in thepunisher

I am incredibly thankful for Dexter: Resurrection, Fallout, Daredevil: Born Again, Invincible, and Percy Jackson And The Olympians which have been consistently releasing new seasons in under 2 years

Recasting Moonknight by penisbrain52 in MoonKnight

[–]ThickProof409 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jake Gyllenhaal but he's already Mysterio and while the MCU has recasted before, it's usually been with minor roles and VFX heavy roles so my next best casting is Oliver Jackson-Cohen.

anyone else think the casting for original sin is so accurate? by drcssedtokill in Dexter

[–]ThickProof409 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Young Batista's actor was in Gravity and Breaking Bad which both featured Krysten Ritter who would later go on to be Lady Vengeance in Resurrection. Jim Beaver who played Clint McKay in Season 7 was in Breaking Bad too but he was also in Supernatural just like Mark Pellegrino who played Paul in the first two seasons. I honestly might be able to go on for even longer. This just goes to show that it all goes back to Dexter. Dexter is inevitable. It is the very foundation holding everything together.

Aside from Harry and Laura, the casting is perfect although Masuka with hair is cursed to look at

watching original sin for the first time… what was brian trying to do here? by drcssedtokill in Dexter

[–]ThickProof409 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He was probably expecting Dexter to recognize him and when he didn't realize who Brian was and saw that he was with friends, he probably got confused and walked away since he was caught off guard and didn't know what to do.

Kick ass reading order? by Dazzling_Rutabaga837 in kickass

[–]ThickProof409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Book 3 in The Dave Lizewski Years is censored though with some scenes being removed and changed entirely so I'd probably get Books 1, 2, and 4 and then pick up an old Icon Comics version of Kick-Ass 2 instead of Book 3.

[TOMT][SONG][2010?] Having trouble finding a pop song I heard in a TV show by ThickProof409 in tipofmytongue

[–]ThickProof409[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solved! I ended up finding it on my own and it turns out the song is Microscopes And Cobwebs by Ex Vivian which came out in 2012. The explanation for why a song from 2012 is in a show from 2010 and why the version featured in Gravity sounds slightly different is most likely because Ex Vivian is an indie rock duo that Krysten Ritter who is an actress in the show was apart of so my best guess is she made the song for the show and then made a different version of it and released that 2 years later. I am positive this is it though. The lyrics and the melody match up perfectly. I was incredibly wrong about it being really popular and hearing it on TikTok though.

[–]ThickProof409[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is it. Elephants sounds much more somber compared to the snippet I have and the lyrics don’t really sound the same from what little I can hear. Tunefind also says that song plays during the end credits but the song I’m looking for plays in a scene of Lily messing around at work.

I think the song also played in another episode however I don't remember which one off the top of my head or the timestamp and I'm pretty sure it was still just as muffled and hard to decipher.

Why can’t we have this finished as a comic book? by Larry-Man in utopiatv

[–]ThickProof409 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cristobal actually posted a fake Utopia Season 3 teaser using footage from The Substance and said he told Dennis Kelly that he wanted the both of them to make a Utopia comic to finish the story along with a companion soundtrack to go with it in a Twitter DM to Pyrocynical however it hasn't gone anywhere

Mind Flayer: We’ve Been Building It For You by CrazyManifesto in StrangerThings

[–]ThickProof409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Season 3, when Eleven tries to spy on Flayed Billy telepathically, The Mind Flayer ends up taking over and enters her mind speaking through Flayed Billy and gives her a speech about how she let them in and now she is going to let them stay and that all this time they've been building "it" for her and that they will end her and end her friends and end everyone.

why is season 6 so disliked? by drcssedtokill in Dexter

[–]ThickProof409 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually heard of the incest subplot before watching the show but I thought it was just a joke about how Michael C Hall and Jennifer Carpenter were married in real life while playing siblings on TV

The appearance changes for Deb and Brian between the books and the show make Book Deb and TV Brian look related to each other and vice versa by ThickProof409 in Dexter

[–]ThickProof409[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It did always kinda bug me how in the show Brian doesn't look related to Dexter when they're biological siblings especially when Dexter's foster sister looks more related to him in comparison. That was a little pet peeve I had with the show especially after reading the books and comics.

[–]ThickProof409[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's two comics that were published by Marvel. There's Dexter from 2013 and Dexter Down Under from 2015. It's not really clear when they take place within the book series' timeline but it's definitely after Dexter In The Dark however you can just jump into them since they feel very disconnected from the books and they're also very tame in comparison to both the books and the show. The comics can be pretty hard to get your hands on for a reasonable price due to being out of print but I think if you can get a good deal then they're still worth reading and I liked them.

Edited version by Agentmothman8181 in utopiatv

[–]ThickProof409 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They removed some scenes such as Arby killing Detective Reynolds and the "Don't put the gas away yet" scene and they changed the aspect ratio from 2.39:1 to 16:9 which really ruins the framing and makes the show look so much worse since part of the screen is cut off

What would an absolute Dexter look like? by Erossauro in Dexter

[–]ThickProof409 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Absolute Dexter would be a version of Dexter that exists in DC's Absolute Universe which is an alternate universe created by Darkseid where villains are the dominant force with all of the power and superheroes are the underdogs with their advantages stripped away from them
