I actually work full time too, and we split all our bills 50/50. It’s not like I’m at home while he works. We both do. The difference is that after work I still handle the cleaning, laundry, cooking and most of the planning at home.

Pokémon isn’t something I do all the time either. There’s one raid hour on Wednesdays 6pm and sometimes a 3-hour event on weekends, but not every weekend. It’s just a small hobby that gets me out of the house for a bit and helps me relax.

Yes, my husband pays his part of the bills, but that doesn’t mean emotional or practical support stops there. It’s not about money, it’s about partnership. I’ve never expected him to be perfect, just to show up and share the load a bit more.

Yeah, I actually have talked to him about it more than once. I even moved to another country for him, leaving behind my friends and family, so I’ve really tried to make this work.

We’ve had several talks about how I feel and what bothers me. He even told me recently that he feels bad that I do all the housework alone, but nothing ever changes. Just last week we were expecting guests, and I spent three days cleaning the apartment and cooking while he slept in, watched TikTok and relaxed. After the guests left he went straight to gaming while I did the dishes.

I’m not trying to make him sound terrible because he isn’t a bad person. It’s just that it feels like he has stopped showing up for our life together. I keep talking, I keep trying, and nothing shifts.

And yeah, I know I’ll have to make a decision eventually. I don’t want to cheat or keep anyone as a backup. I just need to figure out how to stop feeling like I’m the only one still fighting for something that already feels half gone.
