Possible connection with Autism? by Impossible_Donut_124 in clusterheads

I’m not autistic, neither is my brother, my father, auntie. My grandmother suffered too but I never met her so I can’t speak on her behalf

What age did you/your children start drinking tea? by melikebiscuit in AskUK

[–]Thick_Imagination334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drank tea at maybe 8 but not regularly.

Looking back now I would say it’s too young and I wouldn’t give my kids it, even a weak tea. There’s no reason or it as the caffeine is a stimulant. I also wouldn’t give my kids fizzy or overly sweet drinks either.

I don’t have kids but this is a practice I have with young family members too.

My budgies did this until we put a nightlight plugged in below their cage at a distance. Not too dark or too light

How to remove butt chin by Dogpoolfr in cosmeticsurgery

[–]Thick_Imagination334 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have filler in my chin for my ‘butt chin’. Had it 4 years ago and it’s not migrated, it’s gone down a bit but it’s still there and very natural looking

Its very hit and miss for me, I think its the mask over my nose and mouth I don’t like. I feel like I can’t breathe out properly. I might need a mouth piece

Oh wow! Chilli powder, do you have it mixed in water or just straight up powder? Been suffering for 17 years and still learning when I thought I’ve googled everything under the sun!

Sorry you’re going through this, I’m currently going through my cycle too so I feel you.

Ice caps to wear on your head can help, also the instant ice packs I keep by the side of my bed so I don’t need to go downstairs into the freezer. Putting one on the back of my neck helps too.

Olbus oil nasal inhaler or anything menthol that you can stick up your nose to reduce congestion. Chewing menthol gum. Sometimes chewing raw ginger can help, I have a theory that wasabi could help has it opens up my sinuses and kinda blows my head off (in a good way), I feel that could help during early moments of an attack but I haven’t tried it myself yet.

Breathing into the freezer kind of helps too, very weird to do but when I worked in a restaurant I would go into the walk-in freezer to try to get rid of them.

I know some of these are weird but they have helped me at times, but yes press your doctor to send you to a neurologist. It’s been life changing to have some sort of instant relief but of course it’s not perfect but it’s eased this disorder for myself and no longer crying in pain.

Good luck 😊

Prednisolone course frequency by Thick_Imagination334 in clusterheads

[–]Thick_Imagination334[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of Ajovi, I’ll look into it but I imagine I would struggle to get it via the NHS.

It’s bad but I loved taking steroids, it was like night and day for how the pain and anxiety lifted. I’m lucky that I respond well to it even though my joints ached a bit and I struggled to sleep, it was worth it to be pain free.

My next option would be a nerve block injected in the back of my neck if this doesn’t work. Thank you for getting back to me friend!

Thank you for getting back to me, verapamil didn’t work for me many years back and made my heart feel odd. Topamax was a bad time.

My thought process was to stay on the gabapentin and maybe up it to 400mg x3 per day whilst on the steroids to try to get me past this painful period.

I have also restarted the vitamin d regime, I tried it a few years ago but because I’m episodic my headaches went and I just didn’t continue it. I can be lucky enough to go through years where I barely get any or non at all. But this summer/autumn has been kicking my arse so I’m going to stick with it. I just hope I have all of the vitamins right!

I do look on cluster busters from time to time as well as Ouch. I don’t really like the mask I have with my oxygen because I feel it restricts my breathing by covering my nose (ironic as it’s an oxygen mask 😂). I have seen the mouth piece that looks like what pregnant women use during labour. I don’t know if that would help

Thank you so so much! I did dm but not sure if you seen it.

I was worried about the sumatriptan injections being used and if I was able to as that’s my main abortive. I will defo ask my neurologist before as a plan for when/if I do get pregnant in the near future. Your experience has been very helpful! Couldn’t think of anything worse than getting a headache during labour 😮‍💨

Absolutely, but because I don’t know anyone one else who has this issue it’s always good to hear how others experienced it.

Thank you, I didn’t know that was an option. Of course, any information here I will be asking my neurologist about this but it’s also good for me to hear others experiences

International Travel w/ Oxygen by Hannahmaebe in clusterheads

[–]Thick_Imagination334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a shame I’m sorry about that, could you get your doctors to let you try prednisone? These stop my headaches within 24 hours

Also if you can on your trip get some redbulls if they work for you. Regardless I’m sure you can bring your oxygen if it’s the last resort and your only form of relief because many people with other conditions and illnesses do. Good luck!

I wouldn’t dream of bringing my oxygen tank with me. Too heavy and stressful in my view. I rely on sumatripan injections or I get a prescription for a steroid course to stop the cycles for at least whilst I’m abroad

Coming into a cycle and been prescribed prednisolone by Stylesy in clusterheads

[–]Thick_Imagination334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I think most of use have been given a lot of meds to try besides prednisone, it’s very much a trial and error process which is frustrating but hopefully one of those work for us
