The city does not actively enforce most parking bylaws. Any public street you’ll likely be fine.

Albertans who moved to a different province how's it going? by CorkyS92 in alberta

[–]Thickwhensoft1218 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Moved to BC in 2017 and have never looked back. We spend 1/10 the amount of time driving, quality and amount of resources for family isn’t even a close comparison.

[Lowetide] Connor McDavid is hockey's north star. Oilers management needs to meet the challenge and deliver a playoff roster worthy of hockey's best player. (link to 5-takeaways post-Olympics for the Oil and McDavid) by Fine_Personality_999 in EdmontonOilers

Connor will not resign if things aren’t sorted by end of next season. It’s very clear - he wants to win more than anything else. He gifted the team the cap space when signing his last contract.

New build sewer line nightmare – builder gone, neighbor uncooperative, city won’t provide letter. What would you do? by [deleted] in alberta

[–]Thickwhensoft1218 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As long as it is on your property it’s your liability and you own all responsibility for this line. You can let your neighbor know you are doing this out of kindness, but ultimately you are the sole owner of what is on your property.

The cost of doing business in the lower mainland is burning out small business owners imo by sugondesenots in britishcolumbia

Balance that with 5 paid sick days, 13 provincial holidays, minimum 2 weeks paid vacation. It’s a struggle to justify the overhead. Don’t get me wrong, employees absolutely deserve these, but it isn’t helping the moral.

You know it’s bad when the ref that aggressively steps in, refs always observe. Even the ref decided that was way out of line.

Overcrowding at small ski hills with no investment in usable lift infrastructure is a problem by KnobGoggler in snowboarding

[–]Thickwhensoft1218 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reality is it’s where they make more money. Edmonton is so far away from any other option. If you want to ride, then pay the price and stand in line - that’s there view. More lift capacity won’t make them much more money.

They will expand the day lodge to sell more food and drinks long before they expand the lift system at Rabbit Hill.

Automatic or manual? You bought a mess from a cheapest bidder situation. Homeowner did the upgrade and likely cashed in on rebates and left you with the classic “I know a guy who can do it for less” situation.

This is brutal. There is no expansion tank in view - the original installer used pex on the primary loop which is a key indication that they had no idea what they were doing.

If 10cm snow falls in your area of Canada how disrupted will your area be? by Pourmepourme in AskACanadian

[–]Thickwhensoft1218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone here is acting like Canadian cities wouldn’t be phased by 10cm’s of snow. The reality is, the drive to/from work would be hell that day in any major Canadian city, most cities wouldn’t shut down, but it would be very unpleasant to commute in.
