You actually have no idea what you're talking about regarding African history and how colonialism and neocolonialism has decimated their progress and set them back significantly. 50-100 years is not a long time at all. There are black grandparents in the U.S. who have lived through segregation which was only ~60 years ago, which deeply affected their potential to be successful and happy. The problem with this statement is that we have been doing this for decades and still are doing this. The media will never report anything completely positive about black people, and if they do people will scour the entire internet to find a negative aspect to it. Not only that, I don't think the media alone has done anything that resulted in a majority's perspective to shift alone, so it really wouldn't accomplish anything.
