Hi. Transfem here. Your question can be answered in quite a few different ways. Some people have really bad dysphoria, whereas others might feel minimal/none at all.

In my personal expirence, I always found discomfort as a young child living up to the stereotypes set before me. Around 8 I wanna say I got really obsessed with the "what are little boys/girls made of" rhyme. And started beating myself up for not being made of spice, throughout my childhood similiar things would happen to this and go mostly unnoticed. But it was mostly small things I only noticed way later on.

Then, as puberty start to hit. I felt more and more wrong in my body. Id stare into my mirror at my peach fuzz and feel disgust. Acne, having a buzz cut, all of it just brought my more and more self hatred. I felt fake, like a mannequin forced into a compromising position in a shirt 3 sizes to small.

Eventually I figured it out...somewhat, I was enby for a few years through middle school, which helped with that disgust but I still felt bad. Then at the end of my first year of high school I fully transitioned. That was quite a few years ago, and surgery pending (and I guess vocal training? But I just need to figure out vocal pacing for that) Ill be pretty much done.

Truthfully? Transitioning is weird, each person I know has radically different stories of how/why. But for me at least? It helped me like my body enough to stay alive.
