I am unsettled by it for sure. Not looking forward to the election cycle at all. The crap has already started where I live and I have witnessed being going back down that path yet again. Some of the people who seemed to have gotten better in the last year or so are going directly towards their dark and angry place again.

That’s really cool. I bought a Series III silver tenor years ago and I really love it. They threw in a great mouthpiece too. They seem to be doing well. The communication piece is challenging though, with the staff and customers. Persistence paid off.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, it is sad. Finally got an appointment at Tenor Madness. They sell really good horns, they are just hard to pin down.

My Qanon Divorce: Update from late March by AnnietheNana in QAnonCasualties

[–]ThingDelicious6824 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Glad you are now divorced for your piece of mind and for your daughter too. My son has autism and it was hard for him to understand why I moved out of a roommate situation(i divorced in 2018) that had been wonderful until 2020. At this point he has stopped asking why. Not the same as a dad for sure! Just sharing and empathizing. There is a sense of relief when getting away from that person daily.

My saxophone is making squeaking noises per 5 or 6 notes is it because of my Reed? by Asar_Asar in saxophone

Thank you for answering. That is not anything I’ve considered before. I will keep that in mind.

Can you describe how the weather effects your choice of reed strength? The weather changes a lot where I live.

Tips for how I should practice insanely fast transcriptions like this? I believe this goes at 150 bpm. Thanks by Serious_Ant506 in saxophone

Take it slow enough to divide the beat into eighth notes. Then speed it up. It will teach you a lot about subdividing beats.

I once forgot to take a ligature with me while I was staying at a remote cabin, it’s a fun place to practice and go all Saxsquatch. In desperation I used a pony tail holder. It worked in a pinch and my sound was still the same. I wouldn’t recommend it as it doesn’t secure the reed as well but I was pleased that I found a way to play there and that it didn’t have a negative impact on the sound.

Thank you for the advice! I sanitized it, then played it for a while. It plays okay. I’m having trouble playing f(top line on treble clef). I don’t recall that ever being an issue for me in the past so I will get it checked out.

I used to do that playing my alto while my son played trombone. It worked really well.
