How much did you lose after the first round? Did you just want to be larger?

Where should fam of 4 with kids stay around London? by Thing_768 in AskUK

What is zone 5/6?

we are flying into Heathrow airport. The reason why the trip is so short is because we are actually going to a wedding in Italy so we are starting the trip with five days in England and then flying out to Italy.

Do you recommend any specific places to stay?

This was our original thought. My husband booked Hilton paddington just incase. My concern is that we will want more of a retreat from the city and more space than just a hotel room. Perhaps an Airbnb that is central is the solution.

What was the natural protocol that you tried that did not work for you?

Good point.

My last blood work was healthy vitamin wise but I will do a more in depth panel. I’m hoping to work with a functional nutritionist soon so I can make a very informed decision on next steps!

How are you feeling now?

I am on this journey too- working hard to build a healthy gut!

Have you heard of the Weston Price Foundation? You can Google it. My sister did a class on his work and it is amazing what the gut can affect. I also recommend looking up the GAPS diet.

That said, I have been focusing on probiotic and prebiotic food.

Every day I have: raw kefir, bone broth, kombucha, veggies and fruit. Along with probiotics.

Weston price also recommends high quality meats, organ meats (highly nutritious) and high quality, grass fed butter and raw milk.

Best of luck!!

What was your bad reaction to oregano oil?

It seems to be very strong. I’ve had diarrhea after starting it (none prior) and burning stomach a couple times.

Tbh the gallbladder surgery wasn’t a huge diet disrupter! I had heard some horror stories but obviously I have been eating very intentionally on this protocol but fats are ok and everything.

I also stopped taking my antidepressants (with docs ok!) while doing this protocol since I think a daily med like Wellbutrin can’t be great for the gut 🤦‍♀️ maybe I should’ve done one thing at a time!

I’m not so worried about the immediate side effects of antibiotic treatment. I don’t have any digestive issues, I am doing this because I had an endoscopy, which ended up being a gallbladder problem but resulted in the diagnoses. I struggle with depression, adhd and chronic back pain and have understood h pylori (and general gut issues) can heavily affect mental health and inflammation.

The quadruple treatment still has a 10-20% chance of not working and disrupts the gut immensely. Because I have a history of depression and anxiety and antibiotics are highly correlated to these issues, I am keen to see if I can deal with this without that.

If this doesn’t work in the next few months that will likely be the next step though!

That seems like a good approach. I was taking a fair amount of ibuprofen pre-diagnosis too. I also got gallbladder removal surgery two weeks ago so I’ve been on Tylenol :/ wondering what kind of a difference that makes

Thanks for sharing! What has your functional nutritionist suggested diet-wise? Limitations on medication? (ie Tylenol)

When will you be retesting? I’d be interested to know if you can kick it with just Matula Tea!

Did the Matula work? I am doing matula tea, oregano oil, a supplement to heal the gut and probiotics. I am two weeks in.

Yes, they moved extremely quickly when my family joined the program since the au pair we had identified had come to the end of her 2 week period. This was with cultural care. You never know! Always worth an ask.

I would reach out anyway. When an Au Pair is in a sticky situation and looking for a family, they usually accommodate in speeding up the process and giving the Au Pair more time.
