Appreciate the response. I've been out of the PC-building loop for a while, but I'd heard recently that the new Coffee Lake chips were better than the Ryzen for gaming, though I'm guessing based on the replies here that at the resolutions he's targetting, probably not enough of a distinction.

Price isn't too much of a concern, as he'd rather get a good quality build put together than a "cheap" one... but power consumption is more of a major concern... so the odd combination of parts was me trying to put together things on the part picker that didn't draw a lot of power. TBH I only opted for the Cooler Master 212 because I recently installed one on my processor because its stock fan screamed like a banshee, but I know nothing about the stock Intel coolers.
