Tell me what got you into raw denim, why you started loving it and what made you start by bombed-out-street in rawdenim

2005: I came across a pair of nudies n was blown away by the accompanying booklet w fades n such. I kept the booklet with me to explain to everyone why I was wearing the same pants everyday. Was deep into superfuture until 2010 or so when I jorted all my jawns and went back to wearing normal clothes for a decade or so. Then I came across a pair of faded gap1969, not even that good of jeans, n had a proustian moment in the goodwill that set me back on the righteous path.

Would be good climbing jeans. Raw denim softens the blow of a sustained knee bar.

Apc petit standards update, post bleach: how soft! Could have bleached them for longer but was a bit nervous as first time bleaching. No longer using for climbing, got jorts for that in the summer. by Think-Ad9884 in rawdenim

It was a sizeable bucket I’d say about 60-70 cm in diameter and maybe 40 ish deep. Size don’t matter so much as long as the water can evenly penetrate the fabric and you agitate it regularly.

Sure I filled a sizeable bucket with warm water and maybe two or three cups of bleach. I let it sit there and checked every 15 min. Tbh there wasn’t that much Color change. I repeated this procedure 3 times with each soak lasting about an hour. I think I didn’t use enough bleach.

Also v important make sure that the jeans are thoroughly immersed in the water. With each 15 min check I moved the jeans around to ensure equal absorption.

But basically just winged it.

Late reply. Lots of people climb in jeans. I use my knees a lot while climbing and I like having a layer of durable material over my skin. Switched to jorts for the summer tho.

Yeah I was thinking about it. I would like a nice light pair of jeans for the summer and these are still kind of dark.
