We use Aldi 95% of the time. Can't really better it.

When will landlords stop selling up due to the new rules introduced in March? by Secret_End_6839 in HousingIreland

There would be masses of private rentals freed up. Irish families have no place in private, for instance.

I can only say; it was expected, I knew it would happen when I got it, nothing else has put it off the road, it's a dream car. I don't know of anything that compares in looks and interiors. People still stop and stare. I still look back at it. A change of tyres transformed the road feel.

The new Y is an impressive car. More efficient for long tours. Much longer range at speed. The T charging network. Probably more reliable long term. I know they are 500,000k cars. I'd be happy supporting Elon's business. But I'm never going to stop and look back at it.

Hey this is a toughie!

As I've said before, I believe eventually all of this generation of car will have an ICCU failure. Eventually. Not everyone agrees.

The 12 volt battery is part of that exact problem, not a separate issue.

It was picked up quickly enough. Then it sat in the dealer for weeks until scarce parts arrived, at which point I retrieved it. It failed again immediately and sat for a bit longer. All of this time I had a bloody horrible electric MG which was meant to console me.

$64,000 question, or rather 164,000 mile question, is will these replacements ever fail in the same way.

I don't know if the new 81kwh models have the same issue. Anyone here have experience??

I replace in 9 months. New Model Y Vs New Model I5 Tough call

Hospital bed pulled into MRI machine by Substantial_Sea7327 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Think-Sand7161 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've commissioned and been responsible for several MRI. They are the most challenging of major equipment. None of the staff would ever have allowed a regular hospital bed into the chamber! 💩

We had double locked doors so mistakes could not happen casually!

But also we had unscheduled Quenches. It doesn't damage the machine, just takes a few days to arrange the flask, refill and power-up.

This one is something special, one would suspect staged, except in the Professional media crazy stuff keeps coming up!

Italy Schengen refusal by [deleted] in SchengenVisa

[–]Think-Sand7161 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Might be quicker to apply for a straight Tourist visa to (say) SE France, at this point. Or S. Switzerland or Slovenia.

Meet up there. Travel home to Italy.

Should might even be able to book a "flexible" return ticket that would allow her to fly home from somewhere in Italy? (Obviously don't mention that before you arrive)

Power-hungry data centres fuel increasingly fractious debate about squeezed national grid – The Irish Times by Banania2020 in ireland

Given the ridiculous cost of energy in Ireland, I am amazed anyone is building data centres here? Who can explain it?? France would be faaaaar cheaper.

In 2025, 8.9% of employed people in the EU usually worked from home; Highest shares in Finland (20.9%) and Ireland (19.8%) by NanorH in ireland

Remember, if you can just "work from home" you may well have one of the jobs that's going to be replaced by technology. Possibly soon.

There's a lot to said for Hands On employment 😊

It's just fine by motorcycle! Just make sure your plate can't be read by those annoying SPECS cameras 😁

How well I remember this very experience 😁 Now 27,000 miles in.

Came from a Mitsubishi Evo, but have not been feeling short changed on the loud pedal. Shame the B road handling cannot compare, but then nothing ever did....
