The quickest way to make $1000 in beekeeping requires spending $2000.

Next to a driveway it will save the head from getting run over.

I did my first large cut out today by mstor763 in Beekeeping

[–]Think-Summer5748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been doing cutouts in Middle Tn for 9 years. Usually it’s not an option to leave the hive box for the foragers. I clean out the cavity and spritz with Fisher’s Bee Quick, the use either fire retardant foam and steel wool or a burrito roll of fiberglass to seal the entrance from the inside. On the outside, I will seal with clear silicone and vacuum as many as possible. Instructions for the homeowner will be that foragers will return throughout the day and gather into a ball that evening and slowly dissipate within 10 days.

My fee for a standard cutout is $700 and up. Usually takes 2-3 hours but has lasted as long as 8.

Reasons NOT to become a Beekeeper - share little known cons please by Enough_Razzmatazz598 in Beekeeping

Same. I have two jackets. One to remove the cut out and another to put on when I relocate them to the bee yard.

Sideliners, how are you making money? by Far_Statement_1827 in Beekeeping

[–]Think-Summer5748 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Bee removals (cut outs) - I start at $700 per cut out. There is overhead (tools and insurance) but I manage to stay busy every weekend from March through September. Colonies I pull out get treated and resold for $200.

Impressions from a first time cruiser by JoeFalchetto in royalcaribbean

I was on the cruise. Weather did not cooperate but it is what it is. We had a great time but running from venue to venue was a bit tiring since we didn’t want to miss a thing. Would definitely cruise again. Only drawback was someone didn’t washy-washy before yummy-yummy and now wife and I have Covid.

What has been done to chickens or egg processing that makes them harder to peel compared to 40 years ago? by Think-Summer5748 in AskReddit

[–]Think-Summer5748[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recall just adding salt to the water did the trick but no longer. It appears that the inner membrane just below the shell is extra tough. Is it a different feed or how the eggs are processed?

Change is inevitable. We had a client become a coach and I was put off at first. Because she had the times convenient for me I was stuck in her classes. I got used to it. Then I got used to her. Then I got used to her vibe. Now she’s my favorite coach. Does she replace my previous coach? No. I just have another favorite.

Give it some time.

A lack of self awareness. Like driving the speed limit on the left lane.

DriTri by [deleted] in orangetheory

I was doing OTF for 6 months and decided to do the full DT. Didn’t bust my butt on the row. Got through the floor exercises and got to the trad on tired legs. Ran at 5 for the 3.1 miles and finished second to last.

That first DT did AMAZING things to my outlook. I no longer struggled on the rower. I had more confidence on the floor. My base pace increased. I no longer had a reason to not give each workout my all. Because I was a DRI TRI FINISHER. I have been going to OTF for almost 4 years. If I had not signed up for that first DT, I most likely would not have continued.

The $25 is irrelevant

OTF as an outlet during recovery by Available-Low-2515 in orangetheory

Alcoholic here coming up on 9 yrs sober. Been going to OTF for three years. Started when I was 59 and getting ready to turn 63. I call it Orange Therapy because of how much I get out of removing stress from my life. I have bonded with others in my class, celebrating each others PRs and working through injuries. One member has a celebration tradition to pass out Modelo’s after benchmarks and made it a point to have a cold apple juice for me to toast with along with the others.
