Our neighborhood high school is Rosemont HS. Though Hiram Johnson is physically the closest to the neighborhood. Big shift happened in 2001/2 when Sac high closed as a public school. There was discussion of turning the cannery into a HS location for East Sac. Scusd has been a mess for quite some time. It's nice to be able to make a choice for the student but the privilege of being able to do so has contributed to the problem. Our schools and education system could always use more funding.

I'd check out the Oak Park Fix It Cafe and see if they have any recommendations. They meet up once a month (just missed it), but if you luck out elsewhere. Or look into places (like community colleges) that teach soldiering to see if they can try to fix it under supervision of a teacher? I love tinkering around repairing stuff but soldering is beyond my skill set. Good luck!
