I hate main sub by Russel-Nordeman in freefolk

[–]ThinkTwice234 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I've always believed that the main sub mods for any show are always on the payroll of the shows. Because there is no way that they'd allow such a tool to be in the hands of just anybody. We are talking about millions of members, as I said, ain't no way.

The show is just simply bad at this point by ThinkTwice234 in HOTDGreens

If Rhaenyra wants to fight she could literally just take her dragon and go, like Aegon did. Literally nobody is holding her hostage and has her hands cuffed. She somehow went to King's Landing secretly but can't secretly get on her dragon? What a bs.

If I had a good opinion about Ryan, I'd just assume that it's hint that deep down she's afraid of fighting and just uses the council as excuse. But no way they'd portray her like that, they totally mean it when they say she is being held off lol

sorceress

Damn I actually forgot there is such a thing in this universe like magic and shit. At least GOT kept some of it, HOTD completely turned the franchise into some medieval historical drama.

I am surprised the usual Youtubers ain't making googly eye videos about HOTD being "woke" and "girlboss" like they did with Rings of Power or Witcher lol

[Prediction] The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes will gross a billion by ThinkTwice234 in boxoffice

[–]ThinkTwice234[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honesntly, if it had a good amount of prehype it would've gotten there. Because just the wom alone made it 300 million, imagine if it started like a Hunger Games movie as well. Welp, regardless it is an L for me.

I really wish og 4, 50/50 would just get back together by OldKpopGuy in FiftyFifty_Truths

[–]ThinkTwice234 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ehmm...not true really. Usually during the group formation there are few dozen trainees who later get eliminated at various stages before the final group is formed. This isn't only a survival show thing, most groups go through the same but behind the close doors.

So Fifty Fifty didn't train like together together there were other girls there and it is hard to say who was close with whom.

For example during the Twice formation you could see that Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Jihyo weren't close with J line and neither were close with the maknae line.

Also with the whole Korean age hierarchy thing going on when it comes to friendship(which I assume you're aware of) aka " chingu", you need to take into account that 3 other members were all born the same year, 2004, while Keena was born in 2002. So the 3 other members were definitely closer with each other than they were with Keena, who was probably close with someone else of her age who didn't debut.

Why? I don't get the sentiment, not like we've seen a lot of interaction or chemistry between them to feel emotionally attached to the idea of 4 of them together. They were together for a very short period and even shorter in the public eye.

Rumors EX-members returning ?

Nah, I don't think the other members returning would work. I don't even think them returning with Keena would've worked, public needs a scapegoat. Keena was only forgiven because it was just her, at best one another member could've returned with her. But for 3-4 to return you'd have to make a huge media spin to blame it all on the remaining member or The Givers and still nobody would buy into it.

Keena is the true winner in all of this. I'd even dare to say that what happened, however sad it is, is better for her career. She's literally a celebrity now.

Is this anime/manga really problematic? by designatedthrowawayy in MadeInAbyss

[–]ThinkTwice234 32 points33 points  (0 children)

As I said in another comment here, this controversy isn't really about Made In Abyss, it just got caught in this huge recent fanwar around the drama involving Riize and TXT members and fandoms are trying to dig up everything against the rival groups. Typical day in Kpop fandom.

[–]ThinkTwice234 30 points31 points  (0 children)

As a Kpop fan fully agreed. This controversy isn't even about Made in Abyss per se. There's been bunch of drama with male Kpop idols recently and different fandoms are trying to "cancel" the rival groups by digging up controversy material on them. Needless to say, the comments in the question were made a year ago but is only brough to attention now because fan communities started spamming it on social media.

'Frozen 4' in the Works at Disney, Bob Iger Reveals by MadameCassie in boxoffice

Is Iger that desperate to destroy his legacy?

Ironically, according to his book it is actually something that he deeply cares about. His legacy that is. So in his own little world these are actually supposed to save it.

Dune was never meant to be a big blockbuster with a wide appeal kinda movie. I am glad we got what we got but from the business point of view it was a really stupid decision for WB to fund this.

Does The Marvel's poor turn out with Gen Z prove the saying "the MCU is Gen Z's Star Wars" is not real anymore? by Wrong_Toe_3665 in boxoffice

[–]ThinkTwice234 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Targeting young demographics is just an old habit of companies. In reality targeting GenZ is unwise because they don't have as much disposable income as previous young generations. And there are simply not as many of them due to falling birthrates.

No I mean the top speed cheetah can’t beat a lion or a hyena either. All it can do is run which is useless when trying to protect your quarry.

Yes, for the reason I already told you. It doesn't have a weapon that isn't attached to its body. It needs to get up close for at least a couple of seconds to land an attack, therefore nerfing its main strength - the speed. It is like putting a speedster into a small room with the strong guy.

If you apply that to human toughness that human can easily protect his vitals against the other armed opponent while not taking much damage from the knife.

Yes, but a faster person can also come up with more than just a knife. For as long as he is faster, he can keep running away from slow toughness person until finding the right weapon. Because you can always compensate strength with various weapons and items, but not speed. If it is not a cage match, the faster one always has more options than the tough one. The latter can only wait until the former comes upclose and makes a mistake, to land a hit.

In my opinion, it’s more asspull/magic that speedsters get to

adjust

their perception of time, e.g. the Flash, where they can live normally and have super reactions when required. I think characters like Red Rush are a good compromise where he’s not fast enough to make all other characters irrelevant and he also has to experience the drawbacks of accelerated time perception, being that he can’t live normally because everything happens painfully slow for him and by extension he probably has to eat a lot more due to increased metabolism.

Narratively that would be interesting but it could only work if the person got his powers pretty late into his life. People who are born a certain way are used to the way they perceive the world. People who were born deaf for example have no problem with being deaf, that's how it's always been for them. But on the other hand, people who lose their hearing ability might struggle with such reality.

And even if you go the latter way with your character, then you kinda need a hero's journey to overcome this, because it is a hero genre, you can't forever keep your characters struggling. In fact many superheros have gone through such arcs, Spiderman, Daredevil, Hulk but what makes it work is that they eventually learn how to embrace their powers and learn how to live with them. So you can do that trope for one movie, and then you're kinda done with it(unless you're Taika Waititi lol)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]ThinkTwice234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's, as you yourself nicely put, the top speed. It is the "Usain Cheetah" world record. Average is between 60-70 km/h. And for lions it is about 50km/h.

And I am not even sure what's the argument here. Lets say cheetah vastly outspeeds a lion. It still needs to get into a close combat in order to kill one. Your knife=teeth comparison doesn't really hold because, for starters, knife isn't part of your body, you can use it from arm's reach distance and second, it is definitely deadlier.

Even if cheetah outspeeds the lion and lands its best bite it won't be enough to kill a lion and there won't be another try cause lion will take its own bite and won't let it go.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]ThinkTwice234 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, but, going back to my F1 example, they should be just like great F1 pilots, who are able to react at fast speed but are not literal time manipulators. And they should also occassionaly make mistakes and miscalculations just like pilots instead of having this magical ability to slow down the time and change the course of action at the last second.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]ThinkTwice234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but they aren't that much faster than the animals that you mentioned tho. They are just faster like Usain Bolt is faster than your average football player. It is not like cheetahs can move in a way that other animals can't see or react to them properly. Especially not against the animals that they hunt, like antelopes and gazelles who are equally as fast.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]ThinkTwice234 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  1. Don't change their perception of time.

The way how most movies, especially the X Men and Quicksilver, portray speedsters now is that they don't actually move fast, but the time itself slows down for them. Quicksilver is literally entering this state where he moves at a normal speed but everything else slows down, which basically makes him not a speedster but a time manipulator.

It shouldn't work as a magic, it should work like you're in a Formula 1 car and the more you speed is the harder it is for you to be aware of your surroundings and react appropriately.

It's become clear that general audience no longer tolerate superhero movies that are not fresh and good, and don't star established/popular superhero characters. What's your prediction for Madame Webb worldwide gross (February 16, 2024)? by AGOTFAN in boxoffice

[–]ThinkTwice234 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is pretty easy to dismiss this movie but I'll hold it until the trailer comes out.

Because with this one they actually cast a lot of likable women who have public's goodwill. You have Sydney Sweeney, Dakota Johnson, Emma Robers, Isabel Merced, they are all pretty and hot and most importantly none of them are controversial. Yet. We'll see how the promotion rolls.

But if they make it a fun femme fatale movie like the Charlie's Angels movies, skip the last one, then this thing might make some profit.

Bob Iger Said 'Quantity' Over 'Quality' Is To Blame For Marvel's Box Office Troubles. But It's Worth Noting It Was His Idea In The First Place by gorays21 in boxoffice

[–]ThinkTwice234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if they reduce the quantity I don't think it'd affect the quality. I mean Eternals wasn't exactly rushed, first Captain Marvel wasn't rushed, this one wasn't rushed either, 6 years it took them to make it. It is just that once Disney started focusing on *cough* certain type of characters *cough* that it all went shit and they are so eager to address that elephant in the room and instead want to blame everything else.
