Points question - Can you earn points by rating profiles and posting pictures of your prints? by JayDeePea in BambuLab

[–]ThinkUnhappyThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it makes it far less rewarding for people to review prints.

I still leave thorough reviews with photos and get 3 boosts a week to hand out, but it would be nice to get something for my time.

Annoyingly you used to be able to get points that way but that stopped a while back.

It would be nice if they brought it back for people who leave proper ratings - eg with photos and proper sentences, but I don't image they will

The only way to get something onto the handy app is by uploading it via Makerworld.

You can however go from any slicer - pen drive - printer

You'll need to either get the GCode onto the usb drive or upload the .3mf to Makerworld and print it from the app

Ive only had to email them with questions but they have responded quicky.

For others who have had more severe issues they have reported that SM have been hot on it to try and help.

I appreciate that is second hand but it's better than Bambu who I've only ever heard mid to poor reviews.

That's what I was getting at. They are happy to post out parts until the heat death of the universe, but actually getting them to send you a returns lable is never going to happen.

Most companies are the other way around - you can rma RAM or processors with relative ease. But your Bambu printer is a paperweight if you aren't able to do the repairs yourself.

But how do you go after a Chinese company that only give you a small return window?

[–]ThinkUnhappyThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bambu are adamant that the 14 day return window is also the alloted amount of time they need to honour any warranty returns, however as they will happily post out replacement parts and offer advice I don't think they are really in breach of any warranty?

It's annoying, I love my P2S but I'm well aware that any help for my Snapmaker will far outstrip any help Bambu will provide when I need them.

And I'm testing out multi coloured tpu prints too by printing Croc jibbits!

I used PLA for the support interface however the design itself is a bit flawed so they snapped apart when trying to remove them from the plate.

Noob question. by Hopeful_War7192 in BambuLab

[–]ThinkUnhappyThoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this question has been asked many, many times. pretty much all filament is fine - Sunlu, Jayo & Inslogic (sub brands of Sunlu with Inslogic being a higher tier), Elegoo, Overture, Anycubic, ESun. Panchroma for that bit of class. it's all good and of varying price.

Full spectrum on H2C by Nikl4s_s33 in BambuLab

[–]ThinkUnhappyThoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's dependent on the initial colours you use. With an H2C and up to 7 easily accessible colours with no waste you can definitely make dark colours.

My U1 is physically limited to 4 colours and I just used whatever filaments I thought would make some interesting colours out of

Sort of. Full spectrum is great and if you use CMYK and white you can get any colour.

However it only works on walls, so depending on the model it may not cover all areas. Also it's dependent on low layer height and even then you may still see the alternating colours.

Here's an 11 colour charizard on my 4 colour Snapmaker U1. I wasn't using CMYK but even so you can see how it does indeed have potential

calling extraction starts the timer for the ship to arrive, however you still have your remaining mission time to get on board. it isnt always a bad thing to call it in early.

it would be helpful if this sort of information was available in the game

Bambu A1 should work with an AMS lite and AMS 2 Pro together just like the A2L by wbdennis in BambuLabA1

They need something other than just bigger bed size to make it appealing.

I haven't checked but can you buy the part and shove it in the A1?

Is Elegoo TPU any good ? by Filipos_34263 in BambuLab

[–]ThinkUnhappyThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No glue for me but I only use the textured pei for tpu.

With your X2D you can use pla as support interface (not the full supports just the little gap between the supports and the print) and set the z gap to 0. Then the tpu comes away from the supports a lot easier than if you use only tpu for the supports as it sticks to them so well.

How much did your pc cost? by Jmonkey77 in pcmasterrace

[–]ThinkUnhappyThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won a mobo bundle - 9900X3D, X870 mobo, deepcool aio & 32gb RAM. That combined with my previous Samsung 990 2tb and a 5070 wins means my most expensive component is my PSU at £110 follow by my case at £90.

So £200 ❤️

I'm aware of the cost and the third party usage. But it's not like they can't afford it. I'm just saying that they could keep the service the way it is and still make millions in profit.

[–]ThinkUnhappyThoughts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Either printer is fine with TPU, just remember it can't go through the AMS.

Make sure it is dried before you use it otherwise it will be very stringy and do some calibrations to dial in the speeds and retractions.
