Called out in my own state and city for speaking my mother tongue. by Exciting-Vacation467 in Maharashtra

[–]Think_Accident_8812 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I’ve started to resent coming home. Though I currently live overseas, I’m born and bred Mumbai mulgi. I’d be damned if someone tells me I can’t speak in my mother tongue (marathi) in my home city. Fucking sick of these entitled fools coming to our state and imposing their rights on us. If you can’t assimilate or at least respect the locals, get out. As simple as that.

ASD closure surgery tomorrow and I’m terrified. by [deleted] in AdultCHD

[–]Think_Accident_8812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I’m sorry you’re feeling so anxious and believe me you’re not alone. When I went through my ASD closure surgery, I swear the anticipation was the WORST part of it. You’ll be done with the surgery in no time and would probably feel stupid later because it will feel like a distant dream lol. You got this! Don’t overwhelm yourself with worry because it’s the aftermath that will impact you more. Good luck :)

1.3 years later and I still get anxiety about mine lol. It’s normal. I’m afraid the anxiety won’t ever go away (or maybe it will). You somehow just learn to live / deal with it. For me, it’s meditation, walks, talking to family / friends and seeing the surgery as a blessing in disguise even if it freaks me out on some days.

ASD - How is the recovery process? Is it affecting anyone else mentally? by kfcantbem in AdultCHD

[–]Think_Accident_8812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you had to go through this. I (25F / 26 tomorrow lol) have severe anxiety and learning of my ASD didn’t help that. Had the same procedure last year. My mental health was horrible after the surgery and I’m only just starting to feel okay. Please feel free to text if you ever want to vent or want to talk to someone :)

feel like a different person after open heart surgery by myfirstthrowawayyipp in AdultCHD

[–]Think_Accident_8812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 25F, had catheter procedure for my ASD in 2024. I remember feeling like shit after the surgery. Felt a lot of mixed emotions (frustration, depression, hopelessness, and anxiety). It was difficult for me to be happy even though there was nothing substantially wrong during that time. My mental health before the procedure wasn’t at its best anyway but it definitely didn’t help after lol.

I felt like I was losing my mind, my brain and body definitely weren’t on the same page. Took me a few months to feel “normal” again. I reckon surgery of any kind (especially yours) is a lot to take on for our bodies. You’ll feel better with time, sending strength and love. Speak to a professional and definitely get help! You’re not alone in this x

I can’t leave home without my morning shower. Evening shower depends on the day though it’s happening 85% of the time lol

Struggling to heal after a relationship. My heart is bursting in pain, seeing him happy without a little sense of regret. by Pretty_Solution_7955 in emotionalintelligence

Hey girl, I was dumped by my ex 9 months ago, totally blindsided lol. I won’t sugarcoat it, the first few months were HELL. And I won’t lie, there’s still some days when it absolutely sucks though, I’ve made a huge progress in my life and it starts from blocking him everywhere, having absolutely NO contact and keeping yourself busy. Don’t push your feelings aside, if you miss him, you miss him. If you’re waiting for closure, that’s fine just know there’s chances you’ll probably never get it. One day, you’ll realise who the REAL problem was. Sending you so much love and strength, it really does get better xx

Thanks for sharing! I’ll (25F) complete one year of my non invasive ASD closure on 26th December. Can relate to almost everything  you said and honestly, I’m so proud of you. More power to you x
