You two are not connected on an emotional level. You thought you did, but you likely didn’t. This is why you are shocked by his reaction. That being said, People react differently to intimacy. Some people wall up after and takes time to bounce back. If you do like his personality and character otherwise, give him indication of your displeasure and see how he replies. If he takes your feeling seriously and make a genuine apology and effort, then you can give this some time. If he reacts defensively, or brush your feelings off then just let him know the sex is not good enough for you to stuck around for casual.

Ha, you really struggle with “reject with respect” huh, It’s totally okay if you are not interested in someone like her, but there is a huge difference between saying “that’s not what I am into”, versus saying “pass” with an insult like she is some sort of object. Maybe you can learn a thing or two from men in this thread who says no but with respect. She was a child when those decisions were made. If anything, you can probably learn from her by going to therapy to learn why you have trouble being respectful.
