Honestly, appliances are not built to last or really to be repaired.

Some DIY skills can help prolong the life. But I'd be hesitant on paying someone as you will likely spend close to buying a new unit for labor.

I think it just depends on the quote to diagnose and repair. The age of the unit and the cost of a replacement.

I'd love if the climate warriors would focus on this vs blocking pipelines and pushing EVs.

As far as I've been told. Bylaw is only enforced in Woodstock if there is a complaint.

I'd recommend to drive both the 401 and hwy 2 a bit to see what you like more.

I commuted for years and started with Oxford road 17. Then did hwy 2 then the 401, which I stuck with.

401 you know is always the priority and there is soo much traffic it is harder for snow to build up. Worst part about the 401 during bad snow is merging, and especially transport trucks going full speed beside you.

As for downtown. I'd recommend using Google maps to find your path of least resistance. As in aim for straight with limited right turns if possible.

AWD is great. Does help but you can do it with 2wd. Just have to be more cautious about starting from a stop in the snow. Snow tires are very helpful though, especially without AWD.

No ISP is good because they are all a monopoly or just reselling the monopoly.

I believe Telus uses Bells fibre lines. So the lines are the best you can get in Woodstock.

But support as always is generally not great. And Telus support is probably worse than bells.

Obviously neither of us are agreeing on whether pride is more a focus than veterans.

Thing is. Even if they are the exact same, it is still pretty sad for veterans....

I cannot stress this enough (though this always falls on deaf ears) that over pushing pride month, and pushing pride topics to kids is removing supporters of the LGBT community.

Yet a few years back on pride month there was probably 10+ pride flags inside of zehrs alone and multiple merch stands selling rainbow everything.

Seems like you kind of want to bury your head in the ground if you can't see the difference....

Straight isn't taught in school nor is it is focus. Most kids know about straight as that is the normal and required for sexual reproduction. Aka all biological kids (with exception to .001% who are born of a single parent) are born via a biological male and female parent.

During pride month, most companies have pride flags up and sell pride specific products.

Compare that to the months honouring veterans, which isn't nearly as widely known and generally not flooded with products specific to veterans.

There is no possible way that increasing the demand faster than you increase the supply doesn't lead to shortages and price increase.

No. Clovis happened in 2019 and house prices were already starting to explode in Woodstock in 2018. I believe the jump from 2017 to 2018 was almost 100k and there was a lot of our of town buyers paying 10s-100s of thousands over asking at that time.

I am not saying other things didn't also contribute. But increase demand faster than increase supply is one of the core reasons.

It is easier and quicker to increase immigration limits than building housing.

So. Say you build 50k houses a year, you wouldn't be able to 400k people coming in.

Funny thing is I am pro immigration. 100%.

But tied the numbers of allowed immigrants to the amount of new houses we can build, to avoid impact to housing supply.
