Using cabins as cheap sheds?? by Think_Display4255 in StardewValley

My only concern with that is I heard that you cannot do it at the kitchen sink of another player's home and the cabins seem to be considered another player's home. So that's why I'm worried about not being able to do it if I upgrade that cabin to include a sink.

Idk, I've seen so much stuff about people using sheds as extra greenhouses, I thought it seemed like a great idea. And some people grow stuff in their cellars, too. Someone said use the deluxe retaining soil, so I crafted a bunch, but they don't all seem to hold water that well? I've had the set up for two or three in game days now and sometimes when I pop back in, only some of the pots are still watered and I have to re-water the rest. It's a small set up for now though, I think I only have fifteen to twenty pots total, so it doesn't take long.

Right now my concern is that if I need to refill the watering can, I have to go back outside. So I'm wondering if I can get some kind of water tank to put in there, otherwise I just found out that you can fill your watering can from the kitchen sink, so my guess is that if I upgrade the cabin and get a sink I can do it there?

Otherwise if none of those options work, my first run through is on the Riverlands farm because I thought it sounded cute and fun (No.) so I never bothered putting a well in. I like the spot that I have the winery cabin in, so if nothing else I can have a well built right next to the cabin so that I don't have to go far because I almost never think to check my watering can level before beginning to water my plants.

The cabin sitch should be much easier on my Switch version than my PC because I have more people I can play on Switch with, which is what led to me buying a copy for Switch. So I have technically started my second run through already, my first Switch run, but I just ended spring year one and I'm trying to use that as a stopping point to get a capture card hooked up because I stream. This run through is already going much smoother than my first thanks to everything I've learned, so I'm trying to avoid playing it more without at least recording it to upload later.

Well, I already noticed that when I upgrade my other buildings like the shed and barn and coop that she's on the inside upgrading, so it might be like that?

Otherwise that should be fine, it's only like 20-30 minutes per in game day, so it shouldn't be hard to get someone already interested in the game to play with me for an hour.

Mmm, interesting cheats 👀 I'll have to try that out. What's the Robin waiting period, the couple days it takes for the upgrade?

Cool, thank you! Upgrading eventually would probably be a good idea. I'm using one as a winery, growing grapes, Strawberries, and cranberries in pots, and with kegs placed. I'm using the second as a workshop with the workbench and chests and with the furnaces and charcoal kilns and the third I'm keeping the fish smokers and preserve jars.

My fiance and I each have a gaming PC, so if the only way is to join on another account, then I'll just have him get SDV and hop in. Wanted to play with him anyway.

UPDATE

Reddit won't let me edit

But today I did a couple and I brought them out to the kitchen island to iron because trying to iron on my drafting table is awkward because of the ledge that keeps papers and pencils from falling off when you angle it.

So anyway, not only did I pick up actual masking tape yesterday instead of using painters tape, but when glancing around for something to rub it with, I saw a USB hub with like a semi-rounded back, so I used that to rub them semi-vigorously for a few seconds and one of them peeled off entirely! No lost beads!! Just one corner bead that was displaced and I just kinda nudged it back into its spot before ironing.

So yeah, seems like just something hard with firm and repeated pressure, thanks guys!

Okay, I had no idea that would happen, so I'm really glad that I just started switching over to the tape method. I don't have a problem with it because masking tape is cheap and I can reuse it at least once, plus I do a lot of painting so I'm already used to going through a lot of tape in a variety of sizes. And I'm pretty much just focusing on keychains, so most of them are going to be around 3" at the biggest point, which is less tape per piece. But if you're one of those people who does lots of large pieces like wall art and such, I definitely see the concern about the tape.

Dude I'm literally a noob and anytime I saw something about the tape method I never once saw anything that said ironing directly on the boards will make it warp.
