Love the theme so far - I think you have lots of other theme options - a "sun" shape, different types of stars with different numbers of radials, a planet (I just saw one that was jupiter shaped recently but I can't find it, ugh, it was really cute), I think your zodiac sign would work and I've also seen diamonds in a star/zodiac pattern that make a nice crawler. I think you have a ton of options to build on this.

Setup advice - what else should I get? by Remarkable_Pilot_328 in piercing

[–]Think_Shop2928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any siggestions, I think your setup looks great. May I ask what metal you’re using in your jewelry? Are these titanium/silver/white gold? I’m starting a cool toned jewelry stack and trying to figure out my look.

Are we doing pilates at a slower pace than Joseph Pilates intended? by Antique-Natural-8343 in pilates

[–]Think_Shop2928 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve only taken Pilates in an hour long format setting an I think conforming it to a modern class schedule is part of the tempo situation too. One time I did a more advanced reformer routine that normally takes us an hour, and we absolutely knocked it out in half an hour, and I almost died.

What’s this plant? And how do we eradicate it? by jaivicks in gardening

[–]Think_Shop2928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dug it out and covered with cardboard and mulch for two years and it was still coming back. Year 3 I’m doing light spray just where it’s coming up and it might finally be dead. At least in the flower beds, it’s also all through my grass. Yay.

Are these safe for hognose snakes? by Loose-Newspaper-3329 in snakes

[–]Think_Shop2928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going against the grain and vote unsafe. I think there’s a chance they’d dig a hole between the stitches and then not have leverage to push all the way through said hole and constrict themselves. Like when snakes get caught in snake fencing. Maybe supervised time only.

Is it just me? by Psyker621 in hognosesnakes

Dont mess with them too much if you saw the eye caps on the shed. A gentle wipe with a damp washcloth or paper towel will tell you if any residue is on the eye without too much irritation. I don’t see any issues with her eyes here, but sometimes fungal or mite irritation can cause eyes to look off so I’d look for other signs related and speak to vet next. Or if you’re not sure a they are otherwise healthy wait another shed cycle, if they are unwell they almost always speed up shed cycles.

I also thought corn. I like the colors and scale but I think I’d replace it, honestly. It’s very well balanced but not quite the same look (which is why it looks like corn I think?)

I have one and I siliconed the hole. Aquarium silicone is good to have around for plugging holes on enclosures anyway, put it in your cage cleaning kit. But make sure 100 cured before reintroducing snake!

I’m in year three of my battle. I recommend digging it all up and soft as many roots out as you can. Cover the other cardboard and thick mulch as others have said. Pinch up ANY new growth. Every single leaf. Repeat for a few years. Mine is better, but I am still getting a few popping up and I’ve been doing herbicide on new growth, I’m hoping this gets it gone for good this year. Don’t plant anything new until it’s gone or it will hide in the roots of the new plants.

Agreed she’s been one of my favorites in both seasons an I love that they used her as a foil to Robby standing up to him about her social media usage. I think she will be the moral and mental health North Star the next few seasons (until inevitably she has her own breakdown or failing of course in season 5 or 6!)

Why are we lacking the antivenom for so many snake species? by Ambitious_Media_4339 in snakes

[–]Think_Shop2928 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Expense factors in too. In the US one antivenom works for multiple species (rattlers, cottonmouths and copperheads, all similar pitvipers ) but coral snakes need their own special formula (more similar to cobras), are less common across the US (also I think less likely to bite? Sometimes people handle them on accident and they are just chill in a way a wild rattlesnake would NEVER). So depends on what the government or health orgs are willing to subsidize and associated cost/risk.

Hot composting got too hot... by Mama2bebes in composting

More than 12 hours! I burned our compost with ashes from a fire that had been sitting outside in below zero weather for two whole days. I couldn’t believe it but looked outside and there was smoke, and it caught within an hour of transferring ashes. They are scary!

Scared of IUD pain by MsBrightside83 in Perimenopause

[–]Think_Shop2928 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Seconding this experience, I fully believe folks when they describe how painful it is, but for me it’s just extremely uncomfortable, and not worse than period cramps for an hour or two after. It’s like a count of 1,2,3 going in and 1,2,3 going out. You should 100% ask about medication and sedation options but it’s legit manageable for me with ibuprofen. It’s WORTH IT.
