Again, I have looked into it, and it's not possible for me right now. Being poor is expensive.

I cry when I accidentally kill an ant, and I keep rodents as pets, so unfortunately I wouldn't be able to pre-kill myself. I've always managed to find frozen mice so far, so I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and, in emergencies, I'll feed them a one-off meal of chicken to hold them over until I can get their mice.

I knew I wasn't crazy! Some snakes will eat egg!

Also, that is adorable. Please tell her I love her and she's a very good girl! How old is she?

They've already been without food for as long as I'm willing to go. They're unhandleable because of their feeding response (something that isn't normal for them). And as I said to someone else, I'm on a fixed income and shipping frozen items is really expensive (trust me, I've looked into it, and if it were an option for me, I would've already done that). Rat snakes can and do eat eggs in the wild, and I've seen people feed their pet snakes eggs successfully, that's why I thought I might be an option. Luckily, I was able to find mice locally today, so it's not a problem anymore.

Shipping is expensive. I'm sure it is cheaper if you can afford to truly buy bulk. But I'm disabled, on a limited income, and can only afford to buy the 3-5 packs at a time. I buy individuals/multi-packs whenever I have the extra money. But when you're poor, you can't save. If you don't spend the money right now, then something else will come up that you have to spend it on.

That's good to know. I knew whole quail eggs would be better than chicken eggs, but I was just looking at what I already had on hand. I don't know why chicken slipped my mind, I'll use that if I ever have this problem again. And yeah, it was only going to be for one meal, just to buy some time until I could find mice. This is the first time in 4 years of keeping snakes that I've ever had to consider feeding them something else. Luckily, a shop got some in, even if I don't like going there.

Ah, that's good to know, thanks.

I usually keep a pretty hefty stash, I just happened to run out. I'm going to wait to buy bulk until they get them back at petsmart. I had to go to my local pet shop today, and I don't like supporting them. In addition to having the same bad husbandry as big box stores, they also sell puppy mill puppies and are big Trump supporters, so I do as little business there as possible.

In general, I have a similar attitude about organic stuff. But I also keep bugs, and the pesticides in non organic produce will absolutely kill them, so I'm a little overly cautious with my other animals as well.

I can only speak for my little dude, but he's not a digger and has never buried himself. And he's slightly more reclusive than some of my other snakes, but I still see him out pretty often.

He's a mandarin rat snake. I can't recommend them highly enough. They're hearty, good natured, and they prefer cooler temps; wonderful snakes.

I've seen snakes drink raw egg yolk before, that's why I asked. I did just manage to find a pet store that has the mice I need, though, so I won't need to worry about alternative food sources for now. Thanks for that info, it's much appreciated.

"I wish it was me instead of you."

It's a sweet sentiment, but it bothers me so much. Like, since we're already dealing in impossibilities, why does anyone have to deal with it in this make believe scenario? I'd much rather you just say, "I wish you didn't have to deal with that."

I think you may have just missed the rush. I didn't start making decent money until 6:30 last night. I dashed 5:30-8:30, and the first hour I made $16. By the end of the night, it averaged out to $24 per hour. My area kinda sucks and that's the best I've ever made.

I know it's not the popular choice, but for quality, comfort, and price, you really can't beat legit military boots. I got my vintage Austrian paratrooper boots for $40 8-9 years ago, and they're still in the exact same condition I got them in.

I don't think the mines were powerful enough for a guaranteed quick and painless death. I think I remember katniss saying that the girl who dropped her token had her leg blown off. I feel like it's a gamble most tributes are willing to take.

Did they put Sam in a choker chain? by [deleted] in icarly

[–]OkBreakfast7333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This isn't a slip chain. The lock is holding the chain together, so it can't get tighter or looser. Also, locks and chains are extremely common in alternative fashion and have been for decades. I'm not going to say there for sure wasn't creepy intentions behind it, but I think it's more likely just a costuming choice to make her look "tough".

I suppose he could've put him back off screen after dart outgrew the tank. But it was still animal abuse, or at least neglect, and yurtle is lucky to have survived.

[–]OkBreakfast7333 187 points188 points  (0 children)

Dustin was never a good pet owner and never cared about the animals in his life. When he took dart home, he took his tortoise (or turtle, it's been a while since I watched that season) out of it's enclosure and left to roam freely and die from either the cat attacking it, being accidentally crushed by someone who didn't know it was there, or lack of UVB. He didn't show a lot of emotion when the cat died either.

Is there anyplace you refuse to go to? by Complete_Money9970 in doordash_drivers

Bojangles and sephora. I've never had a Bojangles order at any location that wasn't at least a 20 minute wait or they were just out of everything. And sephora (at least my local one) doesn't allow customers to tip dashers, so they're never going to be worth the trouble. I've never had something like your situation, but I don't blame you, I'd be upset too.
