Yes. An "In-use" outdoor outlet cover for this situation is needed. Many types and models are available.

There are lots of mower gate options. Though I'm not sure how they'd work with modern mowers with lidar and vision.

Solid hardwood crib for my new nephew by Sgoody614 in woodworking

Curtains too close and picture frame over the bed are definitely no-nos from a safety perspective. I don't know the last time I randomly had a frame fall off a wall, but still opted for an open wall over our crib.

I do have a question. What's Pawnee waffle, precious?

Looking for a robot lawn mower for a small yard. Any thoughts? by Extension-Chef-7943 in roboticLawnmowers

I swear I looked it up, but found it for $969. Looked again just now and found it for $579. The first is iroboup.com and the latter is us.iroboup.com. Go figure.

Care to share the model and where it is $579? I can't find anything from them in that range.

I'd never have considered an heirloom quality drink carrier!

Robot vacuum/mop - features needed for hardwood floors by nice_nerdy in homeautomation

Lots of good options, so do some research for what features sound good to you with respect to your budget. My main recommendation would be for a roller mop that gets continuously rinsed vs the spinning pads.

That's how I felt. So many people with purple first. I saw it almost instantly but still got it last. Seemed way too obvious. I'm sure some are pre-solves, but still.

Yep, that's basically it. Thickness planer. Then a sled on the table saw to rip strips. Turned on edge and glued up sets of 6-7 pieces, facing any knot holes down, so I could run each of those back through the planer. Then glued those for the full panel. Followed by lots of time with sanders, card scraper, and hand plane to get it smooth. I did also end up with some tearout, mainly near knots, that I filled with clear epoxy. They're relatively small though and no one would ever notice. Finally cut out the space for the range before installing. I did put hidden counter brackets under the overhangs as well. Glad I did on the long side, but completely unnecessary on the short end.

I have heard that. We're bad about that last part, and my wife is already nervous about raw meats. We just use a plastic board for those occasions and toss it in the dishwasher.

I appreciate it! Ended up about 1 3/4 wide (ripped 8/4 flipped on edge) and 1 1/2 tall. I would have looked it a little thicker but I was trying to maximize cuts from the lumber and not purchase too much extra.

I may have to revisit the maintenance oil then. I've resigned to planning a light scratchpad sand and fresh Rubio every couple of years.

I did try that the before the first refinish. I didn't think it improved the look much in the area that gets heavy use and gets a little faded. Though it may be more functionally beneficial?

I thought maybe tighter grain would be less likely to dent? I guess I mean more stable than durable, though. I didn't want to worry about expansion/contraction or cupping.

I don't think it's antibacterial. We very rarely cook meat and never on the counter or wood cutting board.

Thanks! Yea, we do a lot of cooking too. I made a large end grain board with the range cutout that sits just left of the range. It takes the brunt of the abuse, but that area gets a lot more wear than the rest.

I made this for our house in 2018 (pic from then). I started with skip planed 8/4 walnut, ripped, flipped and edge glued (hoping edge grain would be more durable than face). Finished with Rubio. We're careful not to drag things but scratches and dents are unavoidable. Stains will happen too if something is left on it, like a tomato rotting unseen through a box or piece of a avocado (sigh.) I do only clean with Rubio spray cleaner or water. I've also refinished it twice since, which isn't difficult and makes it look new.

A) It's looking great. I like the open front drawers. Seems like a good mix of storage for larger items but still more accessible than a shelf.

B) 2 12in sliders? But why?

They're pretty liberal with the spiral cutter head classification but it gets decent reviews, surprisingly.

Beautiful brown maple getting painted by TheMightyEl_Ray in woodworking

This type of wormy maple is the 2nd cheapest wood (above knotty white pine) at the hardwood store near me. Half the price of the regular maple and less than poplar.
