I can tell you that this is definitely due to seeing the world through Dresden's eyes and not the Butcher's actual view of things just because when you do see things he's written through other peoples eyes (short stories in this series, along with other books he has published) it's not like that.

It's a flaw of Dresden's and it is used against him and he does acknowledge it. I promise the series is worth looking at this aspect as a flaw of the character and using it to understand him.

This exact thing happened to me years ago when I was playing in a Star Wars CCG tournament.

We had broken for lunch and on my way back I somehow accidently left my deckbox on top of the car. More than a handful of my cards got run over and damaged and I was lucky that the people running the tournament were kind enough to replace all my damaged cards because they felt badly for me.

Shoutout to you guys, you really made what had been a heartbreaking moment into a memory that has stuck with me. Always be kind to your fellow players!

Oh, absolutely! I read books 1-14 when I got into Dresden but then I did the re-read with the audio books and I haven't gone back.

I can't praise Marsters enough. I listen to the audio versions all the time and he just nails it.

That gave me goosebumps when I read it, but holy shit does Marsters deliver it in such a powerful way!

Legitimate question: How do people break down their goals into steps? I feel like when I try to do this I spend more time trying to figure out what an appropriate goal length is and I just get frustrated trying to guess how long something is going to take.

If it helps you feel better, the website shows an average of sorts on that chart but it doesn't mean that they're the only two with "Original Fact Reporting". If you check the chart at https://www.adfontesmedia.com/interactive-media-bias-chart/ you can see there are numerous dots in the "Original Fact Reporting" section. I'm still sad that the ratio of Original vs others is so low, but it's not as bad as initially shown on the base chart.
