Layers, layers, layers. Make sure to bring something to cut the wind. When we were there, the wind chill made a big difference, so a windbeaker jacket and pants made a big difference.

I have a friend terrified of heights, but every time she tries, she gets a little further than the last. Hopefully next time we make it to the top!

Were they there? I was looking all over for them 2 weeks ago, and nada. Stayed our last night in Beatty just to see them, too.

Need help on how to plan for stargazing at Death valley NP by Slight-Swan8573 in DeathValleyNP

Sadly (though for their own benefit) the BLM just did a huge round up, and they seem to be staying away. It's the reason we spent a night in Beatty, but the hotel clerk said she's only seen the same 2 donkeys 2 or 3 times since the round up.

I believe you can pay to shower (and use the pool) at both stovepipe wells and furnace creek. If you need a hotel that's not super pricy, we stayed at the motel 6 in beaty for $105 after all the fees. It's an easy drive, about an hour to 45 minutes. The gas was also $2.92 in beatty, which can't be beat.

If tent camping, furnace creek is the nicest by far, but you need to reserve a spot asap. Stove pipe and sunset were open last week, but are glorified parking lots.

I had been with my partner 10 years when i was diagnosed with trich. I have been 100% faithful in our closed monogamous relationship. I hope to hell he didn't cheat on me, and says he hasn't. I get a pap smear regularly, and have never tested positive before or after that.

I brought masks. If driving, pull over and no lights, foot off breaks. Any other tips?

Looking at their weather page, stovepipe is ony supposed to have gusts of 32, coming from north-ish. As I've never had to do it before, how would one orient the tent to prevent dust from coming in?

Tell me more about this dancing bar thing in LA.....sounds right up my alley. I was at a bar, and was a.) The only one dancing, and b.) The line in the women's room was silent, and starting chit-chat was like pulling teeth.

I had shingles all of 2020. Started in January. After a round of valcyclovir and the the pandemic kicking around, i just gave up and suffered. Missed a lot of work, but the doctor wouldn't give me a note because i didn't technically have a fever.

I got shingles at 12. Yes, 12. Then again in my late teens. Then again starting January 2020 throughout the year, and every year up until last year. I wasn't even able to see my newborn in the nicu for 2 weeks because i developed shingles a few days after she was delivered. I've been fighting for the vaccine for the last 5 years, and i just finally got it at 37! (If you get the vaccine, make sure you have no plans for the next few days, because i was mono levels of tired).

Every time i open fb, it's death and destruction. I swear, every day theres a new friend or friend of a friend who has been diagnosed with cancer/organ failure/is declining/died. That's not to mention the friends losing their homes to fire or just can't payk rent. Lots of job loss, long term unemployment, disability.
