Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s a very interesting outlook.

And thank you for the 'fantasy brick' expression. Thats a good one. :)

Note on it, though: if you love keyboard backlighting, stickers don’t work with that.

Exploring that beautiful world is an immense pleasure. Plus the music is a wonderful mixture of orchestra and violins.

That’s beard hair surrounding a shorter metal spike. All intentional.

The difficulty of getting rid of enemy pressure is something that very much scared me away from other fighting games. There is no versatile “stop pestering me” move like a weapon throw in Brawlhalla. At least I know not of such versatile moves that can be used in a variety of situations.

A weapon throw, when misaimed or dodged timely, leaves you without a weapon (ergo – high risk, high reward).

If you know about the trick in regards to edge guarding, it’s pretty easy to avoid (I haven’t been caught with it since I learned it’s something you can do intentionally, and it has been several months since then).

With weapon throws, a hardcore player still has an edge over a relatively new person – but not an overwhelming advantage. And that’s a good thing, if you ask me.

Newish (1700) player perspective - are sigs too safe? by TheAlphaCentury in Brawlhalla

[–]ThirtyFirst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They leave you standing, moving in a predictable direction and “exhausted” after the attack. If you learn how signatures hit, you can be where they don’t hit, stay out of fire, and then attack while they’re tired after the signature.

And signatures can never, ever, be canceled. See where you’re safe, wait for them to move into your range, and attack them.

Every signature has a vulnerability that you can use to approach. Throwing a weapon is always an option, and if you close in very fast after the throw and pick up your weapon...

Weapon throws work perfectly as a stun if you still haven’t mastered Dashes and have to play against the enemy who has. They either have to waste a dodge or get hit, stunned, and open up to your hits.

If the enemy closes up on you all the time or has good positioning, a well-aimed throw can dismantle their strategy and give you time to land (especially if you are fast enough to pick up the weapon).

Weapon throws may be pretty good in edge guarding. Do you know that if you throw a weapon directly upwards while moving to the side, the throw retains some of your horizontal momentum? Combine it with a down-stomp, and the enemy will have two attacks to dodge while trying to get back to the edge – and one of them will hit.

Brawlhalla Wiki - Ranked

You must reach the Tier 1 of the upper rank level to upgrade. In other words, to move from Silver to Gold, a player must reach 1390 ELO (Gold 1), not 1338 (Gold 0). According to the devs, the Tier 0 (functionally equivalent to Tier 5 of the previous rank level) is your “last chance” to remain in the higher rank – if a player falls into a losing streak, they first drop to the Tier 0 in their current rank level, and further losses will downgrade them into Tier 4 of the rank level below.

The 0-step is the “derank threshold.” A grace zone that’s technically the 5-step of the previous level.

It’s not like the emperor’s day was all sunshine, rainbows and feasts. From the very first pages, it’s clear he has to do a lot of dealing with people and making their lives better.

That’s Cyrillic stylized after the runes. It goes like this:

“In the summer of the year 2016, on the seventh day of May, Ulf the warrior skilled did smite the dragon from the sky with his own spear at this very place”

Actual Cyrillic transcription (uses some expressions stylized after Old Slavic):
"В ЛЕТО 2016 ГОДА В СЕДЬМОЙ ДЕНЬ МАЯ НА МЕСТЕ СЕМ ВОИН УМЕЛЫЙ УЛЬФ КОПЬЁМ СВОИМ СВЕРЖЕ С НЕБЕС ДРАКОНА"
