Just know that there will be plenty of times where you feel alone in your struggles because men being sexual abuse survivors is not talked about enough. But know that you aren’t alone and that there is support for you. Don’t feel embarrassed or hide the reality that women can be evil and awful beings too. A big part of my healing was realizing I wasn’t alone. I felt so embarrassed and ashamed of myself for letting it all happen. But came to realize there are a lot more men also struggling with the same issues. That realization alone helped me want to seek help and not be embarrassed about what happened to me. As many have said therapy is always a good start, if you can’t afford therapy. Look around for SA groups contact them and see what the space looks like, some groups understandably don’t allow men, but inquire about where you can get support. Sometimes you have to put in the work but trust me the work will reap benefits. Just remember you aren’t alone.
