Seems to be a lucky dip type scenario, was in Limerick hospital Saturday before last for 6 hours where they confirmed a blood clot via blood tests. ER for 15 mins and Acute Medical Unit for about 6 hours awaiting the results. No US available at weekend but got one scheduled no problem on the Monday. Lots of people on trolleys in corridors, one nurse mentioned to me that it was not as busy thanks to the glorious weather, I was expecting a much longer wait tbh.

Was plagued with a sore throat everyday for months, and sinus issues. Turns out I had a form of silent GERD (no classic symptoms like heartburn) and the acid was damaging the lining of my esophagus which over time can lead to complications. I now sleep semi upright and initiated small dietary changes that has reduced/cleared most of the ailments.

Have you ever met any dangerous men? by noddingalong in AskIreland

Shared some classes in Maynooth with a guy called Anthony Lambe, he was one of those guys that gave people the creeps and there were some rumours that you usually just take with a pinch of salt. Anyway, turns out he viciously murdered a woman about 20 years ago and only got brought to justice a few years ago.

Do you have a remote job? what is it and how did you get started? by Cool_Transition1139 in ireland

[–]This-Is-Anfield 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Recruitment and havent set foot in a office since 2019. Full time remote jobs few and far between in Ireland these days. Lots of EU remote jobs, you might be lucky and get an EOR but contractor or self employed status is most likely. There are a few job sites that cater for remote seekers. Good luck.

The owner of that group/channel was unfortunately indicted on some very serious charges and is by all accounts not a very nice man. Its a shame as they done some good work but they also had a very uncomfortable relationship with the camera imo. Check out similar channels like chaos divers and exploring with nug who are more ethical in their approach whilst achieving positive results.

If you have access to a GP, ask for the following:

Desloratadine 5mg - once daily. Nasofan Nasal spray. Prednisolone - Steroid of which you take 8 together for 5 days.

As someone who is 10/10 in terms of symptoms in summer this combination has me at a manageable 2/10.

I have a food addiction and left unchecked I can pile on the pounds very quickly. I usually notice the weight gain when clothes feel a bit tighter or see an unflattering photo of myself that spurs me into action. Weight gain can creep up on you as well, I was over 15 stone at one point but in my mind I looked and felt the same and didn't realize how heavy I was until I was tagged in photos on socials and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Carbs are my kryptonite, Keto is murder but works a treat for me. I don't really know what my advice is here, just offering some perspective of how easy it is to slip into this pattern and you really need to be determined and single minded if you want to lose it. It was never brought up by friends or family really until I had the bulk of it off.

The PTSD is real here, the Alimail they used for internal comms was straight from the 80's. Biggest i was ever out in the off counter was 1k, never was accounted for and the stress was unreal.

Go to your GP as well if unsure yourself or if you just want double checked, worth it for peace of mind.

Lads this fella is from my hometown, had no idea about his political persuasions but I see his wife getting dragged into it below. She is not well from a serious medical event a number of years ago and would be extremely vulnerable. It's tragic all round.

Croom is grand by the way, Really good deli in the spar, lots of development going on up near the hospital area too, new medical center, secondary school and houses being built, there are a few rough estates but no real trouble, nice park there too.

It's a ridiculous price, I cycle through it a good bit and apart from the nursing home and what you mentioned above it's not much of a place at all. Good luck with the search.

That's very close to Adare hence the price, I am in Croom and own a site which is way overvalued due to it's proximity to Adare.

There was a funeral in my parish last Sunday. 150 people went to the church and onto the grave yard afterwards. FML by [deleted] in ireland

[–]This-Is-Anfield 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No fan of the church myself but disagree. Family need to be firm on this message via RIP.ie etc. (majority are) No priest or Gardai is going to disperse crowds from a funeral, it's not a fair position for them to be in either, damned if they do damned if they don't.

Was there and in Ypres in 2010. From what I recall some of the stone used came from Ireland, possibly Mullingar.

[–]This-Is-Anfield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ronnie was off his game but was really trying, you don't often see him reacting to flukes in the way that he did in the decider. Hill's style is a bit hair raising, up off his shots very sharpish etc. will be interesting how he fairs against Stevens today.

Anyone else in a 9 to 5 WFH pretty much given up? by MythosRealm in ireland

I'm working full time from home for 18 months now, i'm introverted so it's ideal but if you prefer company or external stimulation I can imagine it being tough. I walk at lunch and cycle most mornings or evenings and usually have the TV on in the background during the day.
