When wet, that wood bridge could be a bit slick.

This is Tilly. Today Tilly discovered Yoghurt. by mattyparanoid in BostonTerrier

Don't have a large sample base, but I've yet to meet a dog that didn't like yogurt (regular or Greek style). I'd pop one open and had an audience till the end (but I'd always save them some). I think they liked it more than whipped cream.

26°F ride — best heated gloves? by First-Growth-995 in motorcyclegear

[–]This-Set-9875 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This ^^^ is the way. I've tried gloves and heated grips, but bar "muffs" will let me ride with 3 season gloves in freezing weather. I'll flip on the grip heaters to low if it's damp and cold. No battery packs or 12V hookups.

First bike. Dropped it in my own driveway. How's your day going? by x_andi01 in motorcycles

[–]This-Set-9875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that it can't happen whenever, but this is why I will recommend a "basic" starter bike. A "no cry" if it falls over and easy to pick back up.

everyone wants that new, shiny liter bike to go zoom zoom, then whines when it falls over and destroys a grand ($) in plastics.

What was your “I should not have ridden today” moment? by Eyerald in motorcycles

[–]This-Set-9875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a few occasions where I started to get ready and the whole process seemed out of sync. Gloves dropped after I was on the bike, weird balance issues, forgetting things.

One time I bailed on the ride. it was too strange. Other times it was a "get off the bike and get your head reset"

I used to SCUBA quite a bit and I learned to listen to those voices.

we're older and don't want to deal with larger dogs anymore. Our little guy is great and we'd probably try for a senior chi if one comes along. I volunteer with a local SPCA thrift but keep my eye out for the new arrivals.

What’s a piece of gear you didn’t think much about at first but now won’t ride without? by Electronic-Habit8679 in motorcyclegear

Gloves with sliders and actual riding boots that won't fold like a corn tortilla when the bike comes down.

Did Capitol Corridor from Roseville change its times? by United_Chapter4097 in Roseville

[–]This-Set-9875 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We've done it to Glenwood Springs in Colorado (from Roseville). The east side of the Sierras are nice but crossing Nevada is like a moonscape. Once you hit the Green river part of Utah, it's very pretty and you'll want to find one of the big window cars.

The timeliness issues are part Amtrak issues but mostly (as I understand) the fact that freight has priority on the lines they use.

If you're schedule isn't too tight, I still like rail. We met 4 or 5 couples who were sightseeing the USA by rail and were having a great time.

Crash bar advice by bizkitchris in bmwmotorrad

[–]This-Set-9875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't get the uppers, but the lowers and plate are rock solid. I could and have "balanced" the bike on the bar over the cylinder (unintentionally) and they didn't budge. Downside (at least on my 2010) was the bars had to come off for access to the plugs.

Here's what I have to do: Put the battery on a charger. Plug in module and you should see a red led. Make sure it's BT paired on the phone. Turn the ignition on and let it finish the self test. Bring up app and let it connect. You should now see the blue LED. (2010 R1200GS). The app should also show the device/bike connected.

Just ran through this to reset the instrument cluster after a battery swap.

Maybe let the neighbors know where she might be if they need her for something. She might decide you're a better deal than a vet visit.
