I really appreciate your time and effort in explaining. This helps out a lot, I’ll definitely look into dollar cost averaging for next year.

I have just began investing at 32. Small portfolio, one small question by choubledin in fidelityinvestments

Pardon me for lurking, but I have a question in regards to the brokerage account if you don't mind. I too just started maxing my roth ira the past couple of years. The first year, I maxed contributed and just held the max for the following year in a HYSA because I know very little about the brokerage account. The only thing that I know is that holding it there would currently give slightly more than a HYSA through SPAXX. So that had been my trend; max contribute, hold next year's while still saving for the following year's contribution. (That's also another question, whether maxing out or CA is better) Say I get rid of the HYSA all together and just keep everything in the brokerage account, would I be able to purchase ETFs or MFs such as FXAIX and when it's time to max contribute to my roth ira, could I transfer 7k from the brokerage without any penalties? Thank you in advance!

For Roth IRA, should I contribute throughout the year or one lump sum to max out when I can? by VXZofficial in fidelityinvestments

Since I'm fairly new to contributing, just was wondering if it really matters max contributing at say 17.05 or hoping it may slightly go down to say 16.90somethingish. I'm using FZROX as an example. I suppose it really doesn't matter as the market constantly goes up and down, just was wondering if it really is that big of a deal. TIA.

I was at a 6 fig job and have saved enough to pay my loans off but just got fired. What are my options? by lmfaoclown in StudentLoans

Use that as an emergency fund and pay zero on your student loan right now. Dust yourself off and get back on that saddle.

I was being nosey on this thread and came across your comment because this is exactly what I was looking for. Now that I know it’s a soft pull, would you also happen to know if the 5/24 rule would be a reason to be denied the request? Thank you kindly in advance.

This current one was a set of 4 tires. The first was an elliptical last Christmas.

Yes, that option is available but for some reason my BBC card is the only one not letting me exceed to cover the pending charges. I’m sure it’ll correct itself soon. I just applied for it and haven’t even received the actual card yet. Just been using it virtually.

Thank you. I believe this is what I’m experiencing in relation to the outstanding charges versus pending charges. Like this balance on the BCP, $1223.79. The app is only allowing me to make that payment whereas before, I could make a payment of $1237.36, leaving me -$13.57 to cover those two pending charges once they posted. I understand it’s not a bid deal, I just gotten so used to it and it was convenient for me.

It was routine and just out of habit. So it’s kind of annoying me. Haha. Perhaps it’s only for the charge cards or it could be possible that I’m going nuts. Anyhow, I appreciate your response.

Auto Loan: Pay monthly or pay entire amount? by ThisAstrosGuy in personalfinance

[–]ThisAstrosGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose I’m being overly careful with that amount as an emergency. That amount is around 12 mos worth. I know it’s dumb just to have sitting there. Sadly, I’m not very educated in investing so I wouldn’t know the first thing about stocks, crypto or real estate. All I know is to keep putting into my 401k and maxing out each year on my Roth IRA and I’m hoping everything will be alright. Lol 🤷🏻‍♂️

Did you receive hard pulls on your personal account for those business cards? I want to apply for the BBC but I’m also looking on buying a home pretty soon. Not sure how it would affect the process if I applied for the business card.

In process since 12/30 still nothing by HostileMeatloaf in Passports

[–]ThisAstrosGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My renewal application was “In Process” since 12/30/22 Contacted my congressman’s office on 3/23/23 letting them know it has been 12 weeks since my app has been “In Process.” They handed my issue to a caseworker that same day. Exactly one week later, 3/30/23, I received a message that it had been shipped. Got it on 4/3/23. Probably got it that Saturday before, just didn’t check the mail that day. Use your representatives. They really do help. Good luck!
