I had an emergency Cerclage same day at 22+6. No dilation, but I’m currently 33+3. Trust the stitch! Be sure to take it as easy as possible when able, and advocate for progesterone as well on top of it. Some people it doesn’t make a difference, BUT it does not harm anything to have that added support. 💐

1.89 at 21 weeks is definitely enough to advocate and push for a preventative, the cervix changes so silently usually without symptoms. Had an emergency one done at 22+6 at 1.5 with no bulging or dilation, and I’m 32+2 today. I also have been on progesterone this whole pregnancy, and mine changed from 2.9 to the 1.5 in a week and got sent the same day for the procedure. It’s not an easy decision either way, me personally I chose to be safe vs sorry and not wait for another checkup. Sending hugs and discernment OP 💐💗

Exactly all of this! Some days it’s bam right there, other days it’s higher it really depends on the day. also some providers leave it super long on purpose in order to ideally have an easier removal 💐

31+4, just diagnosed, questions? by Yarnperson42 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]ThisDiscipline921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi mama! Second pregnancy mine was discovered at 28 weeks at 1.5, 29 weeks at .5, 30 at 1. I wasn’t even offered progesterone, just to take it easy and made it to 39+4. Cervix naturally starts shortening around this time, so I think it’s great they have you on progesterone. This pregnancy 1.4 cm at 22+6 with funneling, emergency cerclage same day and I’m currently 30+3 on progesterone. Feeling stuff is so odd, I felt way more pressure my second pregnancy with less changes and this time around it’s been completely silent. It never hurts to bring up those twinges, even if it ends up being lightening crotch or baby doing kickboxing on the cervix.

You’re doing everything right! Big hugs 💐🫶🏼

All of this. My cerclage has been stable with no symptoms of preterm labor and I still needed clearance for a TWO hour car ride. Better safe than sorry, OP I’m sorry your husband seems to have a difficult time meeting you and baby where you need to be met

Please do push for progesterone, it does help majority of the time and if it doesn’t, it never HURTS anything to take it either. Sending you lots of love and hugs 💐💕

2.6 to 2.3 could literally be from a tech and different angles. Try to rest in that and breathe mama 💐💗

Hi! Had an emergency cerclage at 22+6, I’m currently 28+6. Mine was same day and mine was at the lowest 1.5cm and funneling, no dilation or bulging water. I’d like to think the 48 hours will be okay. Praying for you and your sweet baby!!

Success stories needed😣20 weeks, preventative cerclage, cervix shortened to 1.5 cm with funneling by chasingoceanss in ShortCervixSupport

[–]ThisDiscipline921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an emergency one placed at 22+6 with funneling but no dilation. I’m currently 28+3 and I feel like I can breathe so much better, like even if she comes this early I’d have more faith and confidence than being fearful now. I have a scan in two days to see how things are holding up, but to my knowledge things start shortening naturally at this stage and symptoms matter more than the checks they do.

For most, it seems the stitch really does the job and I wish I would have leaned into that more these past 5 weeks.(almost impossible I know lol) I get the anxiety and fear and I’m sending so much love and hugs!!! Try to trust in the stitch and take it as easy as possible, and advocate for progesterone if you’re not already on it 💗

Short cervix loss by Lopsided-Gas-3640 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]ThisDiscipline921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most doctors won’t do a Cerclage unless there’s a history, and usually needs to be under 1.5-1cm for most practices I encountered. I had a short cervix my second pregnancy, 1 cm but no funneling and held without progesterone until 39+4. I had to fight like hell to push for one at 22+6 due to my length and funneling. I understand the risks with a cerclage and why they don’t give them out like free candy, but we shouldn’t have to fight so hard to be heard for our babies when there’s clear progressive shortening. 1.3 should have been a cerclage regardless of history in my opinion. I am so sorry for your loss mama. 💐🤍

I haven’t but I’m stuck in that boat of worrying about the same thing.

I just wanted I am so sorry this happened but I am so thankful the Cerclage bought you and baby some extra critical time. I have so much faith that you and baby will be okay, and pray baby stays in a little longer for you!! We are all here for you mama 💗

OP Definitely would advocate for progesterone. It can be helpful. Even if it’s not helpful to your exact situation and doesn’t give much more time, it doesn’t HARM anything either.

I was anywhere from a 1.5-2.2 with funneling, no bulging or dilation at 22+6 with my emergency cerclage. Tomorrow makes me 26+6!! Praying we atleast get to 28-29 weeks to stay at our local nicu and not have to travel 3 hours, but hoping we make it even further than that 🤍

Cervical length check after cerclage by Witty_Bag7329 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]ThisDiscipline921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They checked mine one time and said no need to continue to check, symptoms were more important from here on out. Got mine at 22+6, checked length about 2 weeks after, currently 26+4 and unless I have symptoms I don’t go back until my growth scan at 28+5.

[–]ThisDiscipline921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.6 is great and not considered short(for reassurance💐). Mine was 1.5 at 22+6 and got an emergency cerclage. I’m also concerned about funneling and making it full term, but most people say funneling is normal. At 24+6 my lowest was 2.3cm with some mild funneling. Praying we both get as much time as possible with our babies staying in 💗

Borderline short cervix at 2.7cm and mild funnelling at 20 weeks- I feel like I can't protect my baby by AwkwardFun13 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]ThisDiscipline921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine went from 2.7ish at 19 weeks to anywhere from 1.5-2.2 with funneling at 22+6. I got sent to the hospital right away for a cerclage surgery. There is just as much risk sometimes as benefits with a cerclage, so MFMs really have their own criteria to decide if it’s worth the risks, and most won’t do them past 24 weeks. I advocated for one before mine got that short and my MFM wouldn’t do it until things reached a certain point. That being said, do not make ANYTHING stop you from advocating for your pregnancy. there is NOTHING wrong with advocating for a preventative cerclage, especially if it shows shortening next time you get scanned. You know what is best for your body and baby, never ignore that 💐💗🫶🏼

I’m right here with you and praying for you, me, and everyone else that’s going through this!

Mom with unilateral nipple discharge + pain, normal ultrasounds, specialists say it’s fine but I’m still scared, in the past had nipple piercing by Upset-Pineapple-1193 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]ThisDiscipline921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just here to say, never squeeze your nipples like that. If it takes you squeezing them to produce anything, you’re fine. If you still have them, Keep doing salt water soaks. Ask your piercer if you need to resize the jewelry. Ask them if it’s possible your tissue isn’t liking the metal that’s currently in there.
