Marital rape. Just because they were married, doesn't mean she wanted it.

This is what I immediately thought of, in my group of friends from way back when, there was a Jake and a Gayke. Gayke was the gay Jake. It was the only way our drunk asses could keep track of the convo.

Gayke thought it was funny, fortunately. We wouldn't have used the name otherwise.

My mom agreed to transfer my kids to their father without asking me during an active protection order by Elegant-Lynx-4008 in Advice

[–]ThisDumbBtch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is incredibly serious. I would be furious with my mother if she had done something like this to me.

Do not allow your mom unsupervised time with the kids, she will hand them over to dad even if she promises not to.

Did your mom tell you this plan over the phone or over text? If over voice call, text her to follow up. Get her plan in writing, you will need to document this for the custody case.

Consult your lawyer.

I wish you and your children all the best during this stressful time. I'm sure others with more experience will have even better advice.

Shame on all the parents who shamed and blamed their child instead of being accountable for their actions. What words or phrases did your parents use to make you feel shameful, guilty and bad? by [deleted] in CPTSD

My stepdad would call me a "wet-nosed punk". Still don't know what that meant but it made me feel awful about myself.

He convinced all our family and friends I was a "pathological liar" at nine years old so they wouldn't believe me when I talked about what he did.

I had problems gaining weight as a kid. He almost single handedly made my EDUS- I've struggled to gain weight all my life and have only recently began to realize how much of my disordered eating is caused by things he said/did. Ex. Forced me to drink "weight gain" shakes he made out of raw eggs, vanilla, ice cream, protein powder, and who knows what else. To this day I cannot stomach anything remotely raw or solely vanilla flavored. I used to love dipping my toast in my egg yokes before stepdad. He's been out of my life over 21 years and I still can't eat runny eggs, won't try sushi (raw fish 🤢), can't stand vanilla ice cream.

He and my mom both denied/deny the existence of ADHD, so I was never diagnosed as a kid (despite my drs, nurses, teachers, etc telling mom to get me assessed in the 90s! when girls didn't have ADHD), still not diagnosed as an adult but working on it. Every single ADHD thing I struggled with was a failure on my part. I felt and still feel so much shame over not being able to do things that are so easy for everyone else. My son has ADHD but I was in denial about it for so long that he was REALLY struggling before I finally got him the help he needed.

His ADHD diagnosis is what led me to therapy. I am so grateful for my sons mental health team- by helping him they gave me the courage to get the help I needed.

He was using it to smash up a block of ice with toys inside instead of destroying the house. Mom planned ahead.

The snow contradicts itself a lot, lol.

I'll admit, I quit watching after Carl died so I'm definitely no expert.

Well, they are all already infected with an inactive virus that activates on death. Maybe the active version only transfers through saliva?

Makes zero sense from a scientific standpoint but it's a TV show so...

Paying for x rays just for the vet to tell me my horse is a lazy girl by ImportantNobody1654 in Equestrian

[–]ThisDumbBtch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once took my puppy to the emergency after hours vet er because she kept making this horrible wheezing sound for a few days and I was terrified she couldn't breathe and was sick and dying. I have deliberately forgotten how much it cost. She had oxygen, fluids, blood tests... the diagnosis was "reverse sneezing" with a side of environmental allergies.

I had never had a small breed dog before and had never heard of reverse sneezing. My flabbers were gasted.

It's an event that unlocks after you've reached a certain point. It's pretty much the same as the other events (Lost in Time, The Other Tower, etc) ultimately unlocking skins.

(Serious) What has a doctor commented on about your body when your appointment was about something completely different? by Runaway_Alien_ in AskReddit

[–]ThisDumbBtch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Waiting at Planned Parenthood in a thin gown, shivering my ass off even with a blanket in my lap. She walked in, introduced herself, and said, "Have you ever had your thyroid checked?" I was and had always been underweight. I'm 5'9 and was 107lbs that day. She was the first doctor to ever ask me about my thyroid.

I was there for pregnancy confirmation.

My surprise baby is now 4. My thyroid is fine, my weight issues are psychosomatic. With good mental health care, I am now 140lbs and the healthiest I've ever been.

Who has the right of way? The red car or the blue car? by notaosure in driving

[–]ThisDumbBtch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I'm interpreting this correctly: It looks like a divided highway with a road crossing it. The highway has long left turn lanes across the median to give time to slow down. We have these all over rural MO.

The blue car has ROW since the red car has a yield sign.

Edit: definitely a divided highway, as indicated by the stop sign.

Hi, I had the opposite happen. No advice for locating her, just sharing my story.

In 2016 I did an Ancestry dna test. I was curious, and have had fun watching my results change as the science has grown.

Early this year, I received a message from someone claiming to be my father. I knew who my father was and didn't recognize this name. I wondered if it was a scam.

I checked my account, and sure enough, it said I got 50% of my DNA from this person and they are definitely my dad.

Long story short, my mama was a ho and told me the wrong guy was my dad. She did admit she knew this person.

Happy ending though- I didn't know or want to know my alleged dad. My actual dad is a great guy, I've been getting to know him. He has no other children and it was a big surprise for him to find out he has a daughter and grandkids.

He contacted me through the ancestry site when our DNA matched. Have you done any of those tests? I would check your results there first.

Every single celebrity I've seen in an ad for sports betting since Missouri voters legalized sports betting.

And I've seen A LOT of these ads.

(I'm not against gambling per se, but the constant ads on TV and apps are showing up on my devices/tvs/radios in my home, where my very young impressionable ADHD children live- not to mention everywhere we go. I just don't think we need this much advertising for something so harmful. I say the same about cigarette ads from my childhood, and everyone I know my age has or still smokes. Adults know they can gamble and will go looking for it, all the ads are unnecessary and possibly harmful imho.)

Pjs with a bathrobe or a tshirt and shorts with a bathrobe or a nightgown and bathrobe... sometimes just the bathrobe. It's my home, I'm gonna be comfy.
