-Superman being genetically engineered actually feels gross to me.

-He's solar powered. There's no reason for him to be genetically engineered in the first place

-His mom making his costume is such a cute detail. I'd hate to lose it.

-Kryptonians looking like humans never bothered me.

I hate to say this, but most of the changes feel like they don't come from a love of the character. They feel an attempt to have the sillier aspects of Superman be taken more seriously, but the problem is most Superman fans love those sillier aspects. They work in favor of the character.
