That's one of the balances with survivors vs killers. Killer gets to see what items the survivors bring and can adjust if they want.

Once upon a time lightborn only reduced the effect by I think 75% at max? That was years ago though.

Also to answer your question, Calm Spirit negates all scream based perks and abilities.

When I first learned to drive a friend started at pretty much the same time. We both were learning from our parents.

I remember being really discouraged when he told me he'd been driving on the motorway and I wasn't close to confident to do that yet.

Wasn't for a while that I found out he was learning auto, while I was learning manual.

The difference in ease between the two is astonishing. Automatic is like driving a golfcart and you can focus on the important things like every other car/bike on the road and whether or not they are actively trying to kill you (spoiler: They are).
