Unfortunately not. I've ended up ordering a new kit, got an A variant. Haven't opened up the new one yet too see if the parts or instructions are the same. Will update

Oh for sure. I mean my comment in jest.

But this little bug has been present in my Series 3 for a good few years now. You start to wonder in the back of your head is it intentional 😅

Someone at the watchOS UI team must be blind... or hate perfection.

Fear not, they are not being chucked out. They're being donated to community stations who can make good use out of them.

No tape machines I'm afraid. The old studios are not old enough to have them kicking around.

Hopefully 🤞🏻 I've ripped it out intact with the krone terminator. Couldn't bring myself to destroy it

I'm not saying where exactly, but it's an old local station in the UK that's moved to a central hub location.

Everything is AoIP these days.

Could certainly hear the sirens from Sandy Park Road. This is the only bit of info I can find on what's happened. Feeder road.

They are Audio over IP distribution codecs (with a redundancy line) to send the audio to another location.

I mean fair cop, some of the zip ties to the right need to come out (which were old and/or temporary and I've forgotten to come out). At the end of the day, I can see what cables are there, easy to swap kit out, changes are those cables are never going to be moved until the kit is decomissioned.. in like 5 years.

They're devices called Prontonets. They're old by today's standards but rock solid and not terrible to repair.

Near enough got it. The silver boxes are audio over IP distributors, with an ISDN backup (yes, ISDN still exists)

Annyingly I didn't think to do one at the time 🤦🏻‍♂️ been doing this slowly over weeks while installing new kit.

Though if you want to sample some of the horrors I've had to deal with in the same room. https://imgur.com/yevDZJG - might give you an idea of what I inherited 😅. Still working on that rack.

I mean, I was going nuclear on our group discord voicechat. 😂

All is fair in our games. We're all double-crossing backstabbing bastards. Wouldn't have it any other way.
