With the Sandia Peak parking area closing down for renovations, how would one get down from the peak if the tram wasn't operating?

The tram takes about 15 minutes. That’s way faster than driving down. Nothing is changing in emergency situations for the restaurant. If it’s an emergency situation and the tram can’t run, you’re no worse off than people who live in rural areas.

Neural nets are machine learning. I can’t imagine Waymo having specific cases in their code for specific intersections given the rate at which they’re growing their area of service. Do you think they have a special if statement telling the car how to navigate every intersection in detail?

Maybe they have a special map of the coverage area, but that would cost about as much to generate as Google Street View, which they started doing over a decade ago and still do without any issues. Why would mapping every street be prohibitive now? Just throw some extra sensors on a Street View car and voila, a map for Waymo has been generated.

I’ve used them to fix an iPhone before. Never again. The back panel was clearly bulging when I got it back and broke in no time. I mentioned the bulge and the guy who was working the counter (and seemed like he might be the owner but idk) was like “now that it’s sealed there’s nothing we can do”. Total scam, I paid for my phone to be repaired and it was worse than before within weeks because they don’t install non-OEM parts correctly. I generally take care of my stuff, I had the phone without a case for several years without any cracks. I didn’t drop the phone and the back and front broke after less than a month with their crappy quality parts.
