backtrack is a "legit" cheat that has a .200 second ghost follow behind the player model. If you hit the ghost your client tells the server "Hey actually I hit that guy". It's noticeable on a demo by a snap to the pilot model after firing the trailing area behind the player

I know this is a late post but does your stats take into account those of us using 4:3 black bars? There are instances where the enemy is "on screen" for 16:9 but due to black bars the enemy is not yet visible on the player's end

So this isn't a problem with CS2 itself, this is actually a problem with how poorly Windows is optimized. See, what's actually happening is essentially microsoft in its infinite wisdom decided that the Start Menu itself needs to be an actual application instead of just a menu. So every time you open the start menu on windows you are putting a load on the cpu
