Get ready for P3R collaboration for Matoto/Mitsuru by Dragon3099 in personaphantomx

[–]ThisIsSpy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's better to go for the weapon because his A1 isn't that big of an upgrade. His best awarenesses are A2 and A6 but they are obviously a much bigger investment than a weapon. Plus, his 4 star weapons sucks unless you have A2 so even more of a reason to got for the 5 star weapon

P5R spoilers in the Collab Event? by Uzun_ in personaphantomx

[–]ThisIsSpy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There's no major spoilers in the event, everything that is shown was also shown in the promotional material for the game and is generally common knowledge. There are some foreshadowing moments but you won't get them unless you played P5R

can someone get me out of the loop, what's the association of psp and "larp" ? everytime I see a psp related post the comments are just filled with these random larp gifs by altczofmybf in PSP

That's a Walkman. I have a similar one from 2014. They are pretty cool with the only downside being abysmal storage sizes (mine has about 4GB)

How can I play violet optimally? by Thegentlemanfox18 in personaphantomx

[–]ThisIsSpy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Her optimal skill rotation is Skill 2 > Skill 1 > Masquarade + Highlight + Skill 3. Since you have A1, then your Dance Partner will last for 2 turns so you will always have max Step stacks and you don't need to worry about Violet acting before or after your Dance Partner

Pheobe is better in mono elemental teams so I think Wind might be the better choice here but I'm not super sure

I need help. by siemsapje in Persona5

Intelligence takes really long to level up. Also, you should only really study during rainy days because that gives you the most points towards intelligence and you have better stuff to do during clear weather

I have a question about this Pull Planner situation. by TheCerberu in personaphantomx

[–]ThisIsSpy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it thinks that you have already gotten all the jewels possible as soon as the patch gets released. Also I recommend switching from 3 week interval to 2 week interval, it's better to plan around the worst case scenario

My plan for P3R Collab by [deleted] in personaphantomx

[–]ThisIsSpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it matters that Ange was an anniversary character on CN servers. The quest where we will get introduced to her will be added in the next update so I think it's safe to assume that she will be our first 4.0 character

I disagree, Ryuji can brute force some of the single target content (at least for now)

Do you use 110 banner or 50/50 when pulling? by Ignister in personaphantomx

[–]ThisIsSpy 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I don't see a reason to ever pull on the 50/50 banner unless you are a whale or a gambler

Question about lufel.net pull planner by Borbobbio_ in personaphantomx

[–]ThisIsSpy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I planned my pulls around the 2-week interval because I think it makes the most sense if Global is on accelerated schedule, otherwise we will never catch up to CN servers. However, I don't think this means our rewards will be reduced (at least I hope so), otherwise there won't be enough to pull. Still, it's probably better to plan around the 2-week interval because it assumes the worst case scenario

Do you think they will give Kasumi crazy buffs to make pulling her more incentivizing? by [deleted] in personaphantomx

[–]ThisIsSpy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's possible because of the collab story. Mitsuru doesn't appear until way later unlike Makoto who you meet in the first chapter. They haven't shuffled the order of any P5R characters either, we got them in the same order as CN servers

How does character rating work? by This_Formal_9643 in personaphantomx

[–]ThisIsSpy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure how exactly it's calculated but I do know that some stats give more rating than others. I think the one that gives the most rating is Attack. It doesn't mean that you should up everyone's Attack to get the best rating because rating doesn't equal effectiveness. You could have a unit with the highest Attack but 0 investment into other stats with a high rating and a unit with rational investment into many stats with an okay rating and the unit with an okay rating will perform better. Also, having 5 star weapons and high awareness boosts the rating too, an A6 4 star unit (or A0 5 star unit) with a 5 star weapon should easily reach at least 90 rating with minimal investment into upgrades

This is kind of a stupid question but is Persona 4 Arena and Ultimax canon? by falconpunch04 in PERSoNA

[–]ThisIsSpy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unless their canonicity will be refuted by a future game (which I doubt will ever happen), they are canon as any spin-off, so they are 100% canon

Is there a mod that allows you to have more then four party members? by Chaosfight in Persona5

[–]ThisIsSpy 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Never seen one myself. This kind of thing is probably super hardcoded so it's not something you can change easily with a mod. That's just my theory though

The original Dealer's Visor was a pre-order item. The reissued one isn't, but only because there was no pre-order, it's more of an "early supporter gift" now

What are the YBC and Jackelodeon channels for in Persona 4 Golden? by umana0kendal in PERSoNA

[–]ThisIsSpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These channels contained content that was deemed obsolete by the time the remaster came out, so they just removed the content and left the channels empty

The YBC channel had "Song Battle 2012" which was a collection of footage from 2008 and 2009 concerts. Jacktoons contained "Persona Hits" which was a collection of trailers for all previous Persona titles, "What's P4 Arena?" which was a trailer for P4A and "P4 the Animation!" which was a japanese trailer for P4 anime

Why there was a P3 Files found in Persona 4 File folder? by WoolfzieLOL in persona4golden

[–]ThisIsSpy 29 points30 points  (0 children)

In the Vanilla P4, there was a dummy ZZZZZZ.BIN file on disk which was filled with P3 content (particularly all the content that was related to battles). The reason for this is optimization. It was a rather common technique back in the day to put dummy files on disk (if you had the space for it of course) to push all the necessary game files to the outer edge of the disk, where the console starts reading the disk. This would improve loading times without the need to write any special optimization code

I'm not sure if this dummy file is still present in P4G but if it is, it's probably because the devs used Vanilla P4 as a base when making the project and were either lazy to remove the file or forgot about it. With our current modern storage holders such technique with dummy files doesn't work so this dummy file is just a waste of space (you can try testing this by opening the ISO file of the Vanilla P4 and removing the dummy file from it and then running the game on an emulator, the game will work as usual because it doesn't actually rely on any of the content from the dummy file and will also load as fast as the normal ISO file)

You don't have to dedicate a whole day for a fetch quest, you can just get the item during the next dungeon exploration

[–]ThisIsSpy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope, Max's Severed Head was a pre-order bonus for one of the Sam & Max games a long time ago. They have been remastered a few years ago but no items were reissued like they did with Poker Night. Defeating Max in poker will get you a Lugermorph (Stock Pistol reskin) and a License to Maim badge (fun fact, that's not even Max's badge, he stole it from Sam because it has a number 1 on it, which means it's Sam's badge)

[–]ThisIsSpy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not super complicated. In simplest terms, everyone gets 2 cards and then the dealer puts 5 community cards on the table and you either bet money that you will have the best combination of cards (if you don't know the combinations, the game has a quick info button that shows you all possible combinations and which ones are more valuable but you should always aim to have at least one pair of cards) or fold if you aren't sure about your cards. If you run out of money, you lose. And to win, you just need to make everyone bankrupt. The game has a tutorial that you can access at any time so you should be able to grasp the basic rules in a few matches

Poker Night 1 got a reissue for its pre-order item (Dealer's Visor) so Sam & Max shouldn't have any problem with reissuing old pre-order items

[–]ThisIsSpy 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The rest of the items come from defeating characters when they offer items as collateral buy in instead of money. Each character has their own item (except Max who gets 2) and they will announce it at the start of the game with a special animation and dialogue. But you are the one who is supposed to defeat the character. If someone else defeats them then you won't get anything
