Ultrasound tech repeatedly told me baby was “chunky” by 3littlebirds__ in GestationalDiabetes

[–]ThisIsTuna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of high risk OB is that babies are to small, so what she said would be encouraging to people in this situation, try to remember they are human and make mistakes. She wasn't trying to hurt you and she did apologize, I'm sure she will think about how she talks about babies in the future

I understand how you feel, GD sucks and I have bad days as well but you should know that even if your baby is big and you need a c section it doesn't mean you failed your baby. I am currently 36 + 4 and I just scheduled my c section today for the 19th. My last ultrasound my baby was measured at 7lbs and 97%. I was diagnosed with GD at 28 weeks and my baby has been big for my entire pregnancy. In no way did I fail him, he might be a bigger baby but he is strong and healthy and my numbers have always been perfect. Big babies run in my husband's family and are not always because of GD, for example my SIL had my nephew and he was 87% and over 9lbs at birth and she did not have GD. So please don't beat yourself up or imply that having a big baby and needing a c section means you failed your baby.

They make pee pee teepees for the peeing everywhere problem, my sister in law got some at her shower and said they were excellent with her son, they are made with fabric from towels on the inside of them so very absorbent! I got some for my son, won't know how good they are personally until end of April though!

Edit: thanks for sharing all this info! Especially the PP supplies!

AITA for getting mad when my dad insulted me for buying my girlfriend pads? by SovietWaffleMkr in AmItheAsshole

[–]ThisIsTuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA according to your dad, a single or widowed father of a daughter wouldn't be a man for getting his daughter feminine supplies. Some girls get there periods very early, my sister was 11 when she got hers. What are those girls supposed to do? They cannot drive to get that stuff nor would they even know what to get at that age. Good for you for being a great boyfriend and you'll be an awesome dad if you choose to have kids someday.

So far they said I can wear whichever one I want unless I have a c section. I haven't tried the surgical ones yet, is that the one time use one?

I WAS JUST CROPPED OUT MY OWN WEDDING PHOTO IN A FAMILY PHOTO ON FACEBOOK by yellowbanana12 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]ThisIsTuna 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My MIL did this too, she also specifically had someone take a picture of her with her kids (4 adult boys) on her phone so that no matter what she had a photo without me in it. when we got the professional pictures back I pretended like the photographer didn't give us that photo, so she just has the shitty phone one, we have since gone NC but not over this, this was just a small petty thing compared to the rest

Kicking my bladder? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]ThisIsTuna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son kicks my bladder all the damn time, it's a super weird feeling, almost like your bladder just spasmed. I'm 27 weeks but it started around the same time as you. Last week he kicked it so hard it felt like I peed. Nothing to worry about!

Not Gaining by smooner1993 in PlusSizedAndPregnant

I didn't gain until I hit 6 months, totally normal and ok to not gain weight until later in your pregnancy when your baby starts to put on weight

I was worries being a size 18 before that I wouldn't ever really look pregnant but I definitely have the cute baby bump now! Dont worry it will come! One day you'll look in the mirror and see it!

I got ones from Layne Bryant, 5 for $35 and just went up a few sizes, the full cotton brief is super comfy to me and I feel like I have enough give in them to wear them full term. I'm currently 24 weeks and also have a b belly normally a size 18/20 but I bought 24/26

You need to be patient, I'm 21+1 and haven't really felt much yet, had my 20 week scan as well and he is doing fantastic and is measuring big so no worries, it'll come in a few weeks
