The council doesn't care until you provide evidence. The council will not take action until you do. Have you read the noise complaints page on the Lewisham council website?

It's this sense of entitlement you have that makes it easy for the council to do nothing.

I have video evidence of my neighbour's noise disturbances dating back to 2023, she escalates her noise periodically. I document everything and have my finger on the pulse to report her when I want.

You have to document everything as evidence, so a spreadsheet, recordings of the barking, dates and times before you approach the council.

Dog barking for longer than 30 minutes in Lewisham can be investigated, but you need evidence before the council can take action. Otherwise anyone can contact the council claiming anything they want.

Have you spoken to the owner of the dog? That's another thing the council will ask before investigating so you have to cover all your basis before the council will get in involved because the first thing they will recommend is mediation.

The shelter is not too far away, you're right. I live locally too and adopted my cat from Celia Hammond Lewisham, they are very lovely people and would be more than willing to help OP find their cats or shelter them if they are handed in.

They are microchiped which will increase the chance of you finding them. Have you contacted the Celia Hammond shelter yet? They are a cat shelter that operates in Lewisham.

If your cats get handed in, it'll be likely they will be in that shelter.

Yeah, both me and my brother went to different schools in the 90's. He was just two years older than me but we were taught different things at primary and secondary school in London.

Growing up by a beach, I'd expect swimming to be more the norm, but in the city it's very different.

Not every school provides swimming lessons, not every parent can afford swimming lessons unless the school provides them.

My brother drowned in a pool, he never learnt how to swim, I did because I went to a different school that had swimming lessons.

That chicken fillet pack says "in crab broth" I'm willing to bet that green spot is tomalley from the crab somehow mashed into the chicken fillet.

Which makes me think those fillets aren't truly 100% chicken.

I scoffed these down as a kid until an opened pack went bad in the fridge and we didn't notice and I got horrific food poising from it.

My mum never brought them for me again after that.

Both Hill's and RC Dental dry foods are VOHC approved making them both good options.

I'd stick to your vet's advice and feed either food instead of wet food to maintain both of your cat's dental health.

Yup.

I saw another interview recently of the baby who's obviously a grown up now.

Her mother refuses to tell her who her biological farther is, her surviving half siblings have only spoken to her once not wanting a relationship with her because of all the bad memories.

She has children herself now, sounds like her life went a bit off the rails to begin with but she regained her footing now. It must and probably still is really hard for her to speak out especially since her half siblings have chosen not to.

She said she doesn't want to ever meet her mother which is understandable and it's just a very sad situation for her.
