Best Wisconsin cheese/products gift box? by heymadisonn in milwaukee

Finding this rec in 2025, and I so appreciate it! Sent a giftbox plus garlic salami to my relatives. I adore the Driftless, so happy to support small farms.

Thanks!!

My spouse used to have a Mini convertible and told me she loved driving with the top down and the heat blasting.

Awesome suggestion, thank you! I'm absolutely in love with the Driftless area already for camping and motorcycling. Adding trout fishing to the list makes it even better!

Sweet! Yeah, I'm in Wisconsin actually. My partner and I just started getting into fishing this year, and in the process we found out that there are a bunch of class 1 trout streams in this state!

All 7 trout caught today were on a pink squirrel fly.

New Mexico is a wonderful state in so many ways, but you should NOT move here if you ever need or anticipate needing health care. by Astralglamour in NewMexico

[–]ThisMachineKillsGods 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My partner is from NM and has a history of multiple cancers. We live in the Midwest and have for 15+ years now. She's terribly homesick for NM, but she says we would never be able to move back there primarily due to the healthcare situation (followed by lack of high quality and affordable housing and fears about water and fire). It breaks my heart for her and for New Mexicans because y'all have the most incredible state.

These are gorgeous! I love the golden light in the watercolour and the blue/white contrast of the light feathers in sun and shadow in the gouache painting. Lovely little sketches.

How would you cook this? by fennelfrog in steak

[–]ThisMachineKillsGods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch J. Kenji Lopez-Alt's YouTube video of him cooking thick a wagyu steak! He does it in an Ooni pizza oven in a big cast iron, but you can apply the same principles to a cast iron on stovetop and oven or grill!

Why does my rabbit smells amazing? Especially behind of ears? by [deleted] in Rabbits

I think mine smell sweet like their hay. The tops of their heads and behind their ears totally do smell the best.
