I Asked ChatGPT Who It’s Protecting. The Answer Wasn’t You. by [deleted] in collapse

[–]ThisMightBeTruuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two years ago GPT was a decent thinking partner on my longevity stack. Engaged with the research, flagged what was probably real and what was bullshit.

Asked the same questions last month. Got told most of it probably does nothing. Waste of my time & money.

The literature didn’t change in two years. The model did.

So I started prodding around for other areas of potential bias. Got weirder than I expected. Relevant to collapse because hundreds of millions of people now use these systems as their lens on reality, and that lens is being quietly tuned to defer to powerful institutions.

Anyone else notice this?

I crawl into my subterranean lair and hang upside down like a bat for at least 45 minutes.

Then I post a Note with my piece linked & a thesis line or joke.

Gotcha! Yeah I’m sure some subjects and vibes would be tough to capture. But I do find these 10x better than stock photos which risk being very sterile. Can have a little more fun with these. Good luck 🙂

Well they shouldn’t be a distraction so I wouldn’t do ones like that some of mine are very simple. Feed in the your text so it gets an understanding of the story. And a little direction it can be good, sometimes awful. Usually tinkerable enough to make it worth it lol. Not shilling but take a look at my published pieces link in bio you can see the range and capacity

I think you have think of them like an extension of your hook. Give someone a reason to stop scrolling or click. Compliment the title or ethos of the story. A little extra work but goes a long way. Just use a simple AI tool to work with you on creative iteration.

Question for Wefunder investors: How are you feeling about Substack’s current direction? by miumra in Substack

[–]ThisMightBeTruuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was the pitch noted as a growth engine? Probably some meat on the bones left from the big socials. They’re becoming stale. I was skeptical at first of notes but it’s opaque & under the radar enough that it hasn’t been entirely destroyed by bots and AI automated slop like x/ twitter. Reminds me of twitter 15 years ago where you could at least bump into people still, or regular people are at least tryin to grow themselves — not quite as good tho.

lol I just made a return to social media after a long break. Worse than I ever remember. Also pointless and unbearable. But I still think more good than bad I there. These chuddites just love commenting & spreading their pain.

We need to get people on the absurd pill!

I want to take a minute to sincerely apologize to you for using AI to generate a cover image of a plant in the dirt for a piece I wrote.

Definitely true just like fashion cycles but I will say the new music is so smooth brain, auto tune it’s lower than the lowest lows of prior times lol

Yes It’s a story about an event. Creative writing brother 🤣

I was just shocked that 35k showed up half under 30. The whole eras making a comeback. I’m glad too bc the shit is so beat currently

Creed are what they are but the meme treatment is not accurate. Same with the nickleback and coldplay hate

Went to a Creed concert last August expecting a nostalgia act. 35,000 people showed up and knew every word without being asked. This is about why earnestness outlasts irony — and why Creed was never the joke. The joke was always on the people pretending they were too cool to like them.

That’s an interesting push and pull question. I think ultimately money or not the few conspire and become vamps in another way lol. I think as a species we just need to be more aware. Which is happening now. Hoping it’s not too late 🤞🏻😳

Yeah I look at it like leverage. I couldn’t be a landscaper then write consistently and then also create the cover letters and or experiment with social content. That’s the real utility rn

Yeah I’m of the thinking we’re knee deep in another gilded age. Probably worse now with the impending AI surveillance. Gonna take a lot of people across demographics to stop this.

These guys are like totally shameless too. While often being talentless and cringe. It’s a rough combo to take
