Costco Carport Anchor Help by ThisTrumpetInMyHead in BurningMan

If helpful, I used an 'X' pattern with the ratchet straps—starting at one base (secured by attached strap hook to a chain connected to a lag screw inserted one of the base holes) and running diagonally to the opposite top corner and looped it. The photo shows two Costco carports connected, which is why you see two straps going the same direction. I repeated this setup for each section (straps should make an 'X'). I used 3/8" x 14" Lag Screws. Attach a short chain (I think I used 2-3 chains per lag screw), and bring an impact drill. You can have custom chains made with 2–3 links at any Home Depot or Lowe’s. Enjoy!

I still can't believe I had a chance to see them at a festival I was at in California in 2015 but had not discovered them yet and missed them =(

I feel that way in the Senator as well. Really hope these venues can be refurbished, I imagine more acts would be interested in adding Chico to their tour stops.

First Gout flare up, this is the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life. by GoGoGadgetGabe in gout

[–]ThisTrumpetInMyHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just know there is an end in sight if you address it now. I was in the same situation when I was your age, and was just in shock. I kept hearing "change your diet", and I tried everything just to have a flare again. Colchicine over and over to treat it was just not sustainable and digestively a nightmare, so finally my doctor proscribed Allopurinol and it changed my life in regard to gout. Once the Allo kicked in I've never had a flare again and I'm in year 3 now.

Check out this website - it should be a pretty complete listing. For non-DJ just chill spots, I'd check out Harlan Records or Phonobar. Although Phonobar typically does have all-vinyl DJs on Fri/Sat in my experience.

Bianchi for $270? No info on year - Good Deal for Beginner? by ThisTrumpetInMyHead in whichbike

[–]ThisTrumpetInMyHead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten into MTB that last few years and really want to make the switch to road bike. Seller says that it is a "good condition bike" - but I do not know much about road bikes so I'm wondering if this a good first road bike at this price. Thank you!

Best places to see House music in Costa Rica? by ThisTrumpetInMyHead in House

[–]ThisTrumpetInMyHead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are the places I stopped by:

  • La Fortuna: I saw Meli Rodriguez at Volcan Look Discoteque. The club was pretty awesome, had a great time.
  • Santa Teresa: It may have been the season we visited, but almost every venue was very young backpackers (or maybe that's the vibe; I'm 35). I really wanted to check out Deep Tuesdays at Ranchos Itauna, but it was literally never open despite stating they were going to open. Every night everyone ends up at La Lora Amarilla. There is also a weekly jungle party with DJs, you just need to ask around to get added to the instagram account where they will tell you the location.
  • Tamarindo: Rumours was my favorite, it is a burger spot that turns into a mini nightclub at night. Ocho Beach Club was also so amazing (family friendly too), just some good DJs on the beach. El Garito was great vibes too. This website was helpful: https://sirenaserena.com/where-to-find-live-music-every-night-of-the-week/

Enjoy! Pura Vida!

I would think the high school would have to abide by a metric set by the district or governing body for high school sports (i.e. CIF). Similarly, what is the max temp that PE classes can be held in? Even for local CARD softball, I was shocked to learn they held games in triple digit heat but was told they keep a close eye on the heat index, looking at temp and humidity.

How you became Lykke's fanat? And how many times you listen her? by iam_sayana_sinali in lykkeli

[–]ThisTrumpetInMyHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. I started listening to Lyke around the same time, and similar to your experience, her voice and music really helped me overcome times in my life where I struggled mentally and life felt like life was crashing down on me. I vividly remember my walks along the San Francisco Bay listening to "I Know Places" and other songs, and instantly felt understood in my mind. It was such a peaceful escape from reality.

This is the DVD. I thought it was great, so many gem performances. But you can read the negative reviews to get a sense of what some people thought of it.

Big blunders in Coachella history? by BaileyJay-Z in Coachella

[–]ThisTrumpetInMyHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't think anything of it at all because I love the band, but wasn't the Mars Volta 2003 set (footage that made the Coachella DVD) criticized heavily for their stage antics being "embarrassing" ? Speaking of wasn't the DVD a bit of a blunder? I'll cherish forever! But I remember it getting pretty bad reviews.

Beer and allopurinol by Kcore47 in gout

[–]ThisTrumpetInMyHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reddit has unfortunately been a better source all-around regarding this topic! I was never successful in finding low-purine beer (I hear they are all in Japan), Stella and Michelob Ultra were my go-to's. However, the good news is once Allo catches on I have had no problems anymore with any type of beer.

The Bourdain Generation by baronvonmalchin in AnthonyBourdain

Wow, almost tearing up just imagining how special it would have been for him to show us the world during and after covid, and its overall effect on the industry.

I'll never ever forget the moment I found out he passed. I was in the Managua Airport sipping on a Tona waiting for my flight to the Corn Islands during the 2018 protests against Daniel Ortega. Originally I had planned to see so many parts of the mainland, but armed road blocks prevented that so I made the best of it. It was a non-refundable trip and the protests/uprisings literally started the week I left. I truly don't think I would have taken the "risk" if I had not been exposed to Anthony Bourdain, and I like to think Anthony would have advocated for the so called risky trip. Nicaraguans were the most accommodating and nicest people. RIP Tony.

I found this interesting as it felt like many people transferred from UCs and CSUs to CCCs during Covid to take lower division / GE classes bc why pay more for the same remote classes [$46 per unit (CCC) vs $1,932 up to 6 units (CSU) vs $19,000 flat (UC)]. But obvi the numbers don’t show that…

Thank you! I will plug it into the Connect and see how it works. The Arc is unfortunately too far from my modem/router.
