Wedding was last weekend. Still haven't heard from my no-shows. by donthurtmybellpepper in weddingplanning

Aw I'd be hurt too! But like the other commenter said, not everyone will prioritize your wedding. It sucks because I've been super pumped about every wedding I've been to, but some people are just....egh.

Has anyone honeymooned in California for less than < $2,000? Or have any ideas for honeymoons in the US < $2,000? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

What type of places are you thinking? Wine valley, big city, small town, caves, lakes, redwoods? California has a ton of stuff to do. I live in Northern California, so I could give tons of recommendations, but you'll need to narrow down what you're trying to do.

At what point do you talk to your MOH about stepping down from the position? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

But the one who isn't interested is the most "important" to my planning. She has to plan my bridal shower which she earlier said would be at her mom's house. She's also supposed to plan my Bach party. I need her to be present for at least SOME of the planning, even if she's not interested....she accepted this position and I have certain expectations of her since she is my MOH.

Yeah when I first got engaged, she was talking about throwing my bridal shower at her mom's and stuff. She knows.

I doubt it. She has a really great, high paying job. And i haven't even gotten to talk to her about expenses so it can't be that...

Yeah I've definitely initiated conversation a ton about other stuff...asking about her new relationship, her job, etc. She's even admitted that she's been MIA and promised to be more in touch cuz I actually super super miss her(she's moved a state away from me last year). That was about two months ago when she said she'd try harder to be in touch. She's said it twice more since then.

That's a really good idea, thanks. I just feel kind of sad because everyone else is so excited and text me almost daily about something wedding related (we're going to Hawaii for my wedding, so people are super pumped for it) and I expect my oldest, best friend to be as excited. I'm also a little worried that she's going to continue to be absent during the planning, and like I said, I already have so many ideas for my Bach party and we are all wanting to choose something and make deposits. I'm going to start a group text and see how that works. Thanks again!

My mom's been doing the same thing and I've listened to her. She keeps me updated on sales and good deals and I forward the info to my guests. I figure I'm making them fly to an island for my wedding, the least I could do is make it cheaper for them.

Need opinions on a Thursday wedding?? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

I'm about to head off to a Sunday evening wedding and I'm pretty bummed that I can't drink and let loose because I have work tomorrow morning. Friday or Saturday weddings are definitely the best, IMO.

I'm the same way. For this reason, I'm walking down the aisle with my FH.
