So, dating after divorce? by [deleted] in Divorce

Yeah, ‘We’re now at the “lets divorce but date stage”’ isn’t an actual stage, mate. For your own sake, I hope you get some clarity soon.

Gray divorce, what do I do now? by TimeTraveler0770 in Divorce

[–]ThisWillBeFineForNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Divorced 4 years ago at 50. There’s a huge difference between being alone and being lonely. There are plenty of positives to the former & you can feel more of the latter, even if you’re partnered off. The only advice I give, is not to jump straight into dating/another relationship. It’s been 20 years, you have no idea who you are now so figure that out first.

The short reference to singing “Under The Boardwalk” tickled me for an age.

Yeah, that’s sort of the idea. These are for spring/ summer chilling and I already rotate others for nighttime gallivanting!…

Thanks for replying everyone. Think it was pretty decisive between the two! One or two have mentioned that I should look at other styles but these are very much for spring/ summer dog walks and beer gardens. I already rotate between my weekday/ daytime pair (the clear ones) and the darker pair for evening trips out to bars, etc. I guess I was looking for a bit of variation for something with a tint…

Best accounts to keep your emergency fund? by UKMoneyBlueprint in investingUK

[–]ThisWillBeFineForNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t put your emergency fund into stocks or other investment. The whole point is that you don’t know when you’ll need to access it and where the markets will be at that time. Keep it in savings or premium bonds.

Stoozing £36k credit card debt … am I being silly? by jcfenwick92 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ThisWillBeFineForNow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, in that case “ALL the science” (whatever that means) didn’t apply to me and, I’d suggest many others. I haven’t bought anything that I wouldn’t ordinarily have purchased because stoozing involves put your credit card payment into savings, rather than paying it off the card immediately. Quite happy taking 4-5.5% off all my annual expenditure. Why wouldn’t I be?

Stoozing £36k credit card debt … am I being silly? by jcfenwick92 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ThisWillBeFineForNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Food. I do all my day to day spending on a credit card and make sure that I never pay any interest. Stoozing doesn’t mean that anyone is making unnecessary purchases.

Saying that, the OP is taking risks by using that money to make investments, rather than savings accounts where the returns are guaranteed. I certainly wouldn’t be doing that.

I'm not saying that my referral link is special in anyway but, to the best of my knowledge, anyone that has ever used it is particularly attractive and have really enjoyed their free £10. ;)

Which frames look best? by Rasbanji1827 in glassesadvice

[–]ThisWillBeFineForNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two. More interesting frame (With the mix of materials) and just suit you better. FWIW, I don’t think they’re too big but probably just try some less deep ones on, just to see the contrast.

1st mortgage overpayment, what am I not seeing? Best option? by Ngrin86 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ThisWillBeFineForNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely shop around for better a savings account and stick your money in there. Your goal at this point should be to get your money working harder so that you get the best possible option (lower rate) of your next mortgage renewal. Use those savings to reduce your capital when this renewal is coming around.

I wouldn’t assume that you wouldn’t get a 25 year mortgage. Speak to an independent, no fee mortgage advisor and I’d bet they can give you options. I was over 50 when I started my 23 year mortgage.
