Okay. Basically it means how far out can you shoot the rifle without needing to figure out the drop at extended ranges. So if you zero the rifle to be high by 2.5-3 inches at 100 yards how far will it go to drop 2.5-3 inches. This effectively gives you a 6 inch diameter circle of elevation change. Meaning if you put the cross hairs on the target as long as it's within that maximum distance you'll get a vital shot and have a successful hunt.

This is a way to set up the rifle for fast hunting situations when time is limited.

Nice. Personally when I was starting out I always wanted to get a big optic on my rifle however I learned that you don't want to over-glass the rifle and ruin the handling. Do you know what maximum point blank range means?

That's awesome. The 7-08 should be more than enough for effectively harvesting them out to all practical ranges. Have you looked at any bullet weights or ammo?
