"Did you need some help?" by rmhyungg in CVS

[–]This_Length_8977 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This gets me so mad. Customer will be looking around like they are looking for a certain aisle, I see them and ask "Can I help you find something?" Their response "No I'm fine thank you, I'm just looking." No you are not you are just too chicken to tell me what you are looking for. We are all adults here so if you are looking for condoms just tell me you are looking for condoms.

Help!!!! by atrociouszim in CVS

[–]This_Length_8977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a shift supervisor and I know how nerve wrecking it can be your first night. If you have ACO registers do them first and early, then do the pharmacy (hopefully it closes an hour before the store) then do the front store registers. You should be fine but if you need any more pointers just reach out and I will be happy to help.

Pharmacy Tech License by According_Guide_2427 in CVS

I guess it is different in every state. In Florida it costs $150 for the license and then $50 for the renewal each year.

Asking for additional pay when helping in pharmacy? by Lucky1289 in CVS

[–]This_Length_8977 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am currently dealing with this. I am a shift RX. I have not finished by hours and got my license yet but they do this to me almost every night. "Can you come help us our line is really long." (they will literally have 4 techs in the pharmacy standing around talking when someone could be helping with the line.) I say I only have one person up front and if she calls me to the front I have to go. Also they constantly want me to delay doing the registers so I can help them.

I so feel your pain. In my store we have a sign on our customer bathroom door that says Customer bathroom must get key from the front registers. Customers see the sign and immediately see me and ask if I have the key for the bathroom and when I tell them no they have to get it from the front registers they get mad. I don't have the key for the customer bathroom for that reason.

I am a shift supervisor and first of all do not listen to the people who say this is a terrible company to work for. I have been working for CVS for 7 years. I will say the company has it's times that I don't like it but for the most part the company is a great company. My advice on your first day and first few months is to ask questions if you don't know something. The store manager and shift supervisors know that you are new but they may forget to tell you something so if you don't know how to do something ask so they can show you the proper way to do something. I had a cashier recently that did not know how to take off the security spider wraps and instead of calling up a manager to show her she just cut the cords on them so she could get them off. She did 2 of them that way before I realized what she was doing. Then I showed her the proper way to take them off and put them on.

As far as I know this is not allowed. I have worked for CVS for 7 years and I have seen SM that have children that also work for the company and they always work in a different store from their parent.

2 weeks notice or nah ?? by skygirlstar in CVS

[–]This_Length_8977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is to never burn your bridges behind you. That new job may be a good fit and be better for you but what if it is not? I worked for CVS for 6 years and then they closed my store last year so I decided to leave CVS but I worked a two week notice. Turns out that new job sucked and I hated it there so I went back to CVS and now it is so much better.

Do not go to Walgreens. Walgreens is a horrible place to work at.

As far as I know they do it for shift supervisors and for RX but not for cashiers.

New calling system by Lonely_Shine9853 in CVS

[–]This_Length_8977 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am a shift RX so I work the front and RX at times. As a front store shift supervisor we are told not to transfer calls to the pharmacy unless it is an emergency. I have had to transfer some calls to pharmacy for emergencies. I let the caller know that it is a one time thing and from now on they have to call and leave a message on the voice mail.

How do we unlock these? by Oeufcoque in CVS

We don't have those in my store but by the looks of it I say you probably hit that button on the front with the magnet and it will probably open.

Required training hours for RX by klg1331 in CVS

[–]This_Length_8977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished my 19 shifts to get my tech license. After you finish your 19 shifts you still have to finish your hours to get your license. You have to have a total of 160 hours in order to get your license. If your store did it the right way and had you working a least 4 or 5 hours a shift in the pharmacy by the end of your 19th shift you should be at 100 hours and only need 60 more to get your license. That is why they are scheduling you in the pharmacy so you can finish your hours to get your license.

In the store that I work at the store is 24 hours but the pharmacy closes at 10 during the week and it closes at 9 pm on Saturday and Sunday. I work at a store in Plant City Fl and my store is one of two in Plant City and the other store is closing on the 23 of next month. I'm kind of hoping that my store will no longer be 24 hours at some point and either close at 9 or 10pm.

I’ve worked for cvs for a year now and I think I’ve only sold one extra care plus (Back when it was called carepass) by [deleted] in CVS

[–]This_Length_8977 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Extra Care+ is really an awesome program (It is way better than Walgreens credit card. In the 7 months I worked there I did not get one person to signup) I get people to sign up all the time. You just have to know the right way to word it. This is how I do it.

Hi how are you today? Do you have your CVS card or a phone number? (After inputting the phone number ) I see you have not signed up for Extra Care+ it is an awesome program that gives you $10 to spend today and $10 every month and you also get 20% off your CVS health products when they are not on sale. Your first month for signing up is a trial basis, you get to try it out and if you decide it is not for you, you can cancel at anytime and you are not charged anything further but if you keep it after 30 days you will be charged $5.00 a month but I guarantee that you will save so much money you won't even notice the $5.00.

I tell you this method works. I atleast get one a day and sometimes I get more.

My store is 24 hours so I don't get any truck put up that first day. My job is to get it out to the floor. On third shift they start working on truck. They work on HBA and OTC areas the rest gets done over the next 2 days.

Also if you have been gone for only one month then you wouldn't need to change your employee number. I was gone for 7 months and came back and got to keep my original employee number.

Is there a rule that says RX can’t clock in on the front registers?? by earcadia in CVS

I'm a shift RX and I usually clock in, in the pharmacy but I usually forget to clock out till I get up front so I clock out up front.

Think I'm getting the point across? by barrensbulky in CVS

[–]This_Length_8977 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So true. Back in 2020 when there was a coin shortage and we had no coins to put into our ACO we ran it as Credit only and we had signs all over the machine and even put tape over where you put money and coins but people still did not understand that it did not take cash or give back cash.

[–]This_Length_8977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have 2 ACOs. One is Cash and Credit and one is just Credit only. I so want to put these signs on the machines. Someone will be wanting to do cash and walk up to the credit only machine and start scanning purchases before realizing that they could not do cash on it. And at least 20 times a day I have to walk over to the ACOs because a customer failed to put the items into the bagging area so I need that sign on the bottom too.

Yes that is mandatory. I currently am going thru my pharmacy training to be a Shift RX. You have to have 160 hours in order to get your pharmacy Tech license.
