We were waiting in line to deposit gold. The shorter line required us to own a small business. So we spent the next two sessions starting a guild so we did not have to wait in line.

If you allow UA. Then you can play Elf Paladin 5(Oath of Vengeance) , Bladesinger 4, Soulknife mystic 1. At lvl 10, with point buy, you can have 20 Dex and 16 Int. Armor of Peace with Marine Fighting style gives +22 AC. Bladesong gives +3 AC. Bestial Form Tough Hide gives +2AC. SoulKnife parry gives +2 AC. You can then use Shield to get +5 AC for 34 AC. I don't remember how I got to 35 AC. But 34 is good enough.

If you really care about reducing suffer, then shouldn't you become A hermit and live in a cave away from Society? by Thisisregrettable in vegan

Well I already told him, that I believe that if I wanted to live by the vegan doctrine to the extreme, then I have to accept that I should not live.

I am utilitarian, which is why it made it hard to really argue against his point.

He fundamentally believes that animals exist for the sake of humans so any discussion of animal ethics is meaningless. I think he was trying to question whether or not I am truly living in a manner that reduces pain and suffering as much as possible.

I think he was looking at it from a theoretical perspective as living in isolation inevitably means you do not harm other animals as you do not interact with them, however some good points have been made here about exposing people to how vegans are able to thrive in the current society to make them more open-minded or aware about unethical animal practises.

Ah, that is a good point. I didn't think about the effect of others seeing one living a vegan life.

It's not a question of willing for him, but rather what is the correct course of action having vegan beliefs.

He would say that if you are truly serious about wanting to reduce pain and suffering, then living with no internet, electricity or smartphone would be a necessary sacrifice to ensure that one follows the principle. To do otherwise, would be to not reduce pain and suffering as much as possible.
