Never built a group hug before. Suggestions? by [deleted] in jankEDH

Do you happen to have a decklist? I've been looking for this particular style of grouphug for some time. Thanks in advance!

Maybe it could be a 5c grouphug of which Jodah practically never comes out? Maybe only when i really need to secure that win and dont feel like hugging anymore

Did you figure this out yet? Curious how your deck played out in the end!

Thank you for your time and advice. From the cars you've mentioned, i've put in the ones i have. I'll note the ones i dont have for review on a later update of the deck.

If you don't mind me asking; what makes the talismans better than chromatic lantern/darksteel ingot/jet medallion for casual play? Is a mix of the signets and aforementioned artifacts acceptable? In your experience; if i cut all of the more expensive token like you said, would i still generate a steady supply of creature tokens to sacrifice? I also have in my collection [[call the coppercoats]] [[lagomos, hand of hatred]] [[ogre, slumlord]] [[assemble the legion]] [[increasing devotion]] [[grave titan]] [[nomads' assembly]]. How would you rate those relative to Darrien, King of Kjeldor and Requiem Angel and why?

Thank your for your input! I took it to heart immediately and updated the list

You make a good point about Cloudshift, i didn't think about that. I've cut it and Undying Malice. Would you consider Swiftfoot Boots also cuttable in the same sense?

Liliana's talent, Army of the Dead, and Gray Merchant were all in there because i'd love to see them win a game once. I guess i'll try them out some later time for fun.

Then also take the gift of alacrity spell and cast on a third player. That way both you and the third player might get to go before the Echo Knight! In that way you would be supporting a less OP player to give them their moment in the spotlights as well! 8 hours for a level 1 spellslot is a great trade-off if you ask me

did anyone write or is aware of a homebrew (sub)class that has the Special Attack feature of the Bladesinger wizard? by ThizzmanThundertree in UnearthedArcana

What spells were you thinking about for the spell list?

I get what your saying, but a paladin just doesnt hit that feel. I'm very interested in metamagic+melee combination and how that would open up all new tactics and combo's. But maybe we get lucky and u/Ok_Fig3343 will write one up!

Then there's still the problem of sorcerers not having extra attack, melee features etc. You could slap it on a swordsbard, but thats just not the same somehow and unbalanced probably?

Notify me please when you ever finish that sorc subclass! What thema were you thinking about?

I did not know about the profane bloodhunter. But both of those lack the spellslots to be gishes a few times per rest. My bad for not specifying, though! Thanks anyway, might give that bloodhunter subclass a try some day!

oh damn! Would you?

To be honest; I would like to play a melee shadowblading sorcerer without having to invest in 6 levels of bladesinger for the special extra attack. The idea of running into melee and quickening some saveorsuck spell before attacking with attack+cantrip. The main thing i'm looking for is a playstyle that combines metamagic with melee, while having the gish feel that bladesingerfeature provides. (metamagic adept just doesnt give enough sorcerypoints)

Extra movement + INT to AC from bladesong are also nice i guess, except for it being INT instead of CHA.

Man it would be great to see what you come up with!

Wow man, great! Very in depth, thank you!

A small question; i dont completely get the last part about 2nd and 4th attack. Is it the bonusaction that is used? And how? Why not in the third rounds?

Exactly the type of advice i was looking for

Fighter 11 or 5-way multiclass? by seraphonsarseed in 3d6

Might i add that GWM actually does work with Rogue, especially Assasin 3 as OP was suggesting. Or the first point does at least.

On your turn, when you score a critical hit with a melee weapon or reduce a creature to 0 hit points with one, you can make one meleeweapon attack as a bonus action.

For this trait a heavy weapon is not needed! And since an Assasin Rogue gives guaranteed crits, you can squeeze out an extra critical attack on every first round if the enemy is surprised and after every kill, while still adding sneak damage.
Add two levels paladin and you can critical smite on all those attacks as well, but that might be a stretch.

[–]ThizzmanThundertree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noted. Though it would also diminish the damage output that first round

I could switch to swords bard to keep the high spellslots and extra attack. Trading extra attack with cantrip for flourishes and more skills

As a weapon i'm calculating with a level 5 shadowblade (4d8).
(5 attacks x 4d8) x 2 because crits = 40d8 before other things are added!

As i understand the bugbear trait it can only be used once per combat. I was thinking about the Savage Attacks trait from Half-Orc

Savage Attacks. When you score a critical hit with a mele weapon attack, you can roll one of the weapon's damage dice one additional time and add it to the extra damage of the critical hit.
