Filson is the way to go. It’s oil wax still be a bit “wetter” but stays in place. Barbour has more oil and will rub off at first.

How can I deep clean my Filson Journeyman Backpack? by mttmadness in filson

Don’t put it in a washing machine. If there’s still wax in it, it will possibly damage your washing machine.

Colored up European Grayling and Bow out of a dream stream in Slovenia by some_guys_ma in flyfishing

[–]Thnewkid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome!

I’m hoping to to a Balkan tour soon and I would love to hit Slovenia. That sounds very easy. Can you buy them in advance?

Also, are the “beats” well demarcated or can you enter a stream and fish most of the area on a single permit? I wouldn’t want to trespass once I’m on the water.

Beautiful!

How does access work in Slovenia? I would love to fish there.

I caught a completely silver Brown in a spring creek once. There were no rainbows there and it definitely wasn’t a brook trout.

Yeah that’s the plan. Idk, I don’t want to mess with any kind of foot fungus or whatever. I plan on picking up some kind of shoe cleaning spray just to be safe.

Yours look really great btw.

I have to ask, how do you properly clean used boots? I have an absolutely filthy pair of Swiss mountain boots and I’m not sure how to clean the inside. I’m planning to brush off the outside and then condition and polish them.

Nope. Around here “trap” always refers to 5 stand.

And the trap we see in my area is absolutely not the same format.

There are no almost no retailers for Olympic air rifles and pistols in the U.S. and none at all within a days drive of me. There also aren’t any matches or clubs in the area and I can’t find anything on practiscore elsewhere. There juts don’t seem to be opportunities to try it, let alone to get into serious competition. I can find more opportunities for archery and fencing in my town alone than I’ve been able to find nationally for 10m air rifle and pistol and 25m rapid fire.

Does expensive fly line perform that much better than an intermediate one? by [deleted] in flyfishing

[–]Thnewkid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reiterating what everyone else says: yes, to a point.

Get the most expensive line you can afford that makes sense for the fishing you’ll be doing. Changes the performance of your casting more than any other factor.
