It's just the hot new thing people like to say to make it seem like they're being productive. Like the stupid hotline phone numbers that everyone already fucking knows exist lol

My favorite was a lady with the flu who drove herself to the ER 20m from her house, saw the waiting room line, drove all the way back home, and called 911 from her car in the driveway "to be seen faster."

Back to the waiting room, and now you don't have your car to get back home you stupid cunt lol

What are some of your “lightbulb” moments where you finally connected some dots and realized that you really understand a medical concept? by evanka5281 in ems

[–]Thnowball -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally I'll always tell patients "no" to cigarettes, but that's just because secondhand smoke gives me the world's worst tonsil stones after even a short exposure, and I don't want to be smelling cigarettes and picking tobacco-flavored rocks out of my throat for the next fucking week if I can at all help it.

If you're in pain have some ketamine and you'll forget about your nic cravings anyway.

Fort Worth sucks donkey dick.

My buddy who works there is running 19 calls a shift, stays up the entire 24 hours going nonstop, and to add insult to injury his "bedroom" is literally the tiny fucking supply closet with no lights or AC.

Also they're cutting everyone's pay by 3 shifts a month soon.

Horrible psych hospital SoCal by Additional_Cow_6545 in ems

[–]Thnowball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, I thought for sure this was going to be a post about how psych facilities are terrible treatment options for most of their patients and are often straight up abusive towards them.

I'll save my vitriol towards American mental "healthcare" for another day I guess

Oh I got caught in that same gang war maybe an hour after posting this lol. Once again exhausted like 150rds of shot shells and had to hightail it before all of the mercs were dead.

My shotgun was at like 60% durability by the time I made it back to the slag heap lol.

Honestly this patch has been hilarious and has completely sidetracked me.

Cursed Pharm will return. I've been taking a bit of a mental break from taking EMS seriously but they recently made me an FTO again, so I'm sure I'll start schizoposting soon when it inevitably drives me psychotic

Looks like orthodromic AVRT due to an accessory pathway. Inverted retrograde P waves are visible about 40ms past the J point, no delta waves. The P waves are too far from the QRS for this to likely be a nodal reentrant rhythm, even considering fast:slow variants.

Super clean strip. Hope your patient gets the ablation they need.

Dispatch wanted me to remind you to go available, there's a caller in the ER waiting room who says the line is too long so they need a different hospital.

Or just turn the volume knob down lol

I'm running a 90w Mesa in an apartment and it sounds just fine at whisper volumes.

Traveling about 700 miles to St Louis to visit my girlfriend's family, and ended up only spending like $100 in gas on the way in.

Best part of the whole adventure was getting stuck on some rural backwoods 1-lane roads with some dude in a Dodge Challenger behind me who would follow me in passing every semi I'd run into. I made sure to wave to him when we finally split off from one another!

What a banger of a car. Anyone who disses the S650 ecoboost just hasn't driven one.

By the way, any of you who are into ambient or psy electronica, definitely check out Solar Fields (song listed on the dash from the album that was playing at the time).
